Thanks for the refund

Wow. don't spend it all in one place ;)
-
I always thought you'd put
"zero and 01/100"
but I guess "no" is correct... after all, one does write
"five hundred thousand and NO/100"
every time you write a $500,000 check [;)]

You're in the money! You're in the money!
Remember: it's like the more money you come across, the more problems
you see. Share it with charity or else you will become greedy.
-
heh, I don't have that kind of money...
You're not kidding about problems... I was reading some articles about how so many lottery winners wind up worse off than they were to begin with. Most of it is BAD (or no) financial planning, and the other is not being able to say no to "family" members. :)

Seems like a symptom of a code WTF to me... I'd like to see the software that does that!
-
I have always had the opposite problem but not with this company. I pay off the account and I get a bill the following month for 1 to 3 dollars.
-
There are dumber companies. Cincinnati Bell Wireless has sent me
a bill for -$0.10 (credit) every month for a year now since they
managed to slightly miscalculate my last real bill when I canceled the
service. No check... just a bill. [*-)]

You do realise you blurred the cheque no. at the bottom of the pic, but not the one in the top right corner?
-
You can't do anyhting with a check number. He blurred out the account
number and routing numbers; no check number. A check number is just a
useless tracking number for the check. He covered himelf.
-
I like the part where it says: "Void if not presented for payment within 90 days." [:P]
So you actually have to go to a bank and request them to pay you one cent?
One other funny thing... Having that checked printed must have cost more than what it's worth... [6]
-
Would a judge even take action in these kinds of cases? I wonder. I
think that if you sue them for one cent, they will just laugh hard in
their face.
Or they do it funnier and charge you administrative costs because you
want you money back by checkue. Means you get your cent back but you'll
have to pay $1 for the envelope containing your money. [6]
Besides, they could have "forgotten" about it and just wait for you to
respond to them, telling them they still owe you a cent. Most people
won't even bother to do this. And for those who do, okay. They can get
their money back...
-
I canceled my credit card account in Australia after I was done with my
studies. But it was left with A$1.36 or something, and they'd monthly
post me statements and brochures all the way to Singapore.
It took them a fine number of repeated notifications from me to realise
it was costing way more to post me than what's worth in the account.

Yeah, but you can tell that the first blurred number is the same as the cheque no, didn't seem much point blurring that one if you're not going to do the other one too...

Sell that thing for a dollar as a curiosity.
-
I'm just wondering... What did you spend all that money on? What did
you buy for that refund? Or did you just add it to your savings
account?[H]
-
And I wonder how much you could earn on e-bay if you'd ever sell it there... [:|][:O]

What I did with my money

You better believe I deposited it. Considering the paper, time to process, the postage, the bank envelope, the time to process that transaction ... this has to be the costliest $0.01 transaction ...
I was thinking of being a jerk and putting $0.02 for the deposit, requiring a manual adjustment. But, why make more work for the processors?
(See Attached Image of bank statement :-D)

I'm shocked! You didn't notice the typo.PAYMEMT?
I wonder why nobody in the company ever noticed and fixed that. Any why I always find typos in places where i figured at least one person with a feeling for these things would have read it. (Like our company standard disclaimer/notice, which I hope they will review soon, after I found 3 errors in it while just looking a a document which was within my range of vision.)
Fight the typos!

haha, I didn't noticed that either. But it is strange how many official
letters there are with typo's in them. The worst is the police over
here. They can't type anything proper nor work with computers. The guy
filling in a form for my stolen wallet was fighting a combo box for 10
minutes and kept clicking both mouse buttons at the same time. So much
for a computer system..

Lol, no... I didn't even notice that because that image is quite small on my high-resolution monitor. If you use 1600x1200 then that M looks very line an N...[:$]

That has to be why I couldn't see it either :P
