Well... Did it help you solve your problem?
-
Today I saw a Microsoft Knowledge Base entry about some sort of a problem.
The solution was kind of... missing? But still, a feedback is necessary for keeping these problems solved... somehow...

First time you've seen MSKB then?

-
Wow. Didn't expect to read offending messages like these, but thanks anyway.
And no, this isn't the first time I see a MSKB entry.
Good day. :)
-
Well, maybe your problem was that you didn't know if this is a known bug or not?
(And FYI: there's a Random pictures WTF thread somewhere.)

True, but it's not really The Official thread O'Pictures.

If people submitted negative feedback, someone at Microsoft would probably pick up on the issue. That is why they give people that ability.

Looks like that KB is withdrawn

Frankly, I'm just surprised it didn't include references to five other knowledge base articles that were equally useless.

I'm surprised that it doesn't include instructions for a registry hack that doesn't solve the problem, a download link to the wrong patch, and a sales pitch for vista.
Sometimes I'm not sure why people even bother looking at MSKB.

I've found that the MSKB is inversely as bad as the MSDN is good.
In other words, MSDN is usually excellent :)

If you can find or navigate to the article you want yes, yes it is.

Friend of mine used to work @ MS and found it very amusing that Google does a better job of searching MSDN than MSDN does...

I spoke with a friend recently, and mentioned how the on-line MSDN search sucks. He said it works just fine for him, so I asked him what did he do. Turned out that he's been programming for embedded devices for a while now, and didn't mind at all that all results he was getting were for Windows CE.
