Whatever it may be, it's not human. Even the remains believed to be direct ancestors of humans aren't considered humans, themselves, merely hominids.

Limericks are the worst form of poetry and need to stop.

@DogsB as opposed to authors who write non-poetry books but happen to live in that part of Ireland?

Well, if youâre going to read the article.
The one-box gave it away for me. No one is going to read an entire book of limericks where literally none of them are funny because half the subject matter is either people being shit to each other, or death being shit to people, and Occamâs Razor did the rest.
There was a young woman from Limerick
Who wrote urban drama with a gimmick
Writing trauma in five lines of rhyme
It takes an awful lot of time
And doesnât sell if the premise is sickYeah, I see what you mean.

@dkf For something that took me less than 10 minutes I was pretty happy with it.
But for the sake of
There was a young woman from Limerick
Who wrote her drama with gimmicks
Trauma in rhyme doesn't pay
Best find another way
A poor choice of format to mimic

Also I know the Brits did a real number on Ireland over the years but it wasnât me, guv, honest.

@Arantor i was implying your poetry hour was so terrible God decided to strike Limerick down but Iâll try to work a nationalist comment into my next one.

If my poetry hour was so awful, why wouldnât God strike me down rather than the town?

God works in mysterious ways.

@izzion I was wondering if the issue was that the bearded sky man of infamy that issues mighty smitings might be⊠less than real? But that seems a very topic.
I did see this article though. It seems very appropriate from the headline.

"In Tolkienâs recounting of epic battles between rival clans of men, dwarves, elves and orcs"
Yeah, that's exactly what Tolkien wrote about - clan wars.
-
@MrL The Hobbit certainly ends just after a clan war involving elves, dwarves (authorâs insistence on term), men, goblins and wargs. And a dragon for funsies.
LOTR has clan wars in it, a bit, but mostly orcs vs humans/elves.

Not a clan war, but war of greed.

Did the skate gain sentience and act of its own accord? Have we arrested it yet? Do we know what demon possessed it?

@DogsB disgusing yourself as a German tourist is actually the perfect way to prepare your crime.
You just need socks & sandals to fool everyone, and then you can freely go around inspecting all security measures, just yell "Nein!" or "Jawohl!" if someone asks you anything.
(ETA: hopefully staying on the "bad taste but not offensive" side of the ?)

I watched Killer recently. His most successful disguise was acting as a German tourist.
