, I want to start another thread with a slightly different focus. I am fully aware that it will be lead astray by off-topic posts, so that a difference between the threads will hardly be visible. And of course, Hanzo 
will be our friend because of multi-threading issues. So what.

What's funnier than clowns?
According to the USGS GNIS database, there are only two places in the US that contain the string 'clown':
- McClown Mountain, Wayne Co., KY
- Clown Around Preschool, Miami-Dade Co., FL

Edit: the onebox showed up when I posted, but I don't see it now. It's the song "A Night in Dildo" by the Arrogant Worms, about all the funny place-names in Newfoundland. Like Dildo. (Edit2: and after I edited this, it showed up again. Lesson learned: don't trust onebox.)

@LaoC FWIW, "pusse" (prounced puhssuh) means cat in Sinhala, and "lawa" is a common suffix for villages. So it probably originally meant, "village of the cats".

In South Africa we have the Pilanesberg
The pronunciation being more like "pee-langs-berg", and in the local Afrikaans language sounds a lot like "dick next to mountain".

Local-ish village of Fucke has been trying to get the name changed, but has been denied. They will be Fucke and they will like it!

That's an off-by-one error. The founders are German, and called their place Wurstweiler, off course!

Actually I expected our Czech community to come up with some fine examples.
Czechia is a hilly country, so you often have a village farther down the valley, and another one farther up. The lower village is often called "Dolní", and the upper: "Horní".
So, here you get an example of a hornyí police:
