period restoration
I hear irregular periods are a PITA butt I kinda daubed wattle would help restore them.
-
@LaoC period restoration as in “restoring buildings to the time period from whence they came” - there are buildings not far from me built in the 1400s from wattle and daub that do need occasional preservation.
I don’t know if the recently-made daub is chemically wildly different, different shit is in it.

I think "periodical restoration" would be better, because when I see "period restoration" I'm thinking about the treatment performed to girls when they got irregular period.
-
@cheong “period restoration” is the correct term though, just as “period drama” is not a modern drama focused on menstruation but a drama set historically, e.g. Pride and Prejudice. Periodic as a term implies “doing so on a repeating basis”, which is not the context here.
I blame perfidious Albion and those awful Englishers.

It is actually being used like that but probably more tounge-in-
cheekgroove than seriously. Of course I couldn't let a good shitposting opportunity go to waist or anywhere near that.

Read the article. It's even worse than I thought.
"We are updating the word list over time to remove obscure words to keep the puzzles accessible to more people, as well as insensitive or offensive words," New York Times Spokesman Jordan Cohen told Newsweek.
A new word a day will slowly turn into basic ABC. And wasn't Cohen mentioned in recently?

It's not a parody at all. This is the literally the market actors' common sense when the market says "and we're not gonna buy them!"
But yes, in the current context it does look like a parody.
