Getting Hired by a Scam Company...

@Gąska I could go along with being hired by a scan company. So long as there's a profit-sharing plan.

I suspect the guy didn't destroy the entire network like he thought he did, but it's nice to do a little damage to these people. Hopefully, they're as bad at backups as they are at English.
-
@PotatoEngineer well, given that they were using Wix, chances are the backups are limited. Play stupid SaaS games, win stupid SaaS prizes.
And whatever he put out of commission, it probably wasn't the 'entire network' but likely the equivalent of the local district's worth, but that's still plenty of good karma right there.

Also, I got to disagree with this TikTok person, that was hilarious:
-
@topspin Wow. So not only does TikTok require you to take several days of unpaid training before hiring you, but the "training" is actually doing real support work?
That's on so many levels...

It's also just plain illegal in some jurisdictions. Not just training, but even interviews have to be paid in some circumstances. (Obviously, jurisdiction is one of the circumstances.) If you work for a staffing/outsourcing/temp/consulting agency, and the agency sends you to interview with a client for possible placement at that client, the agency is required to pay you for the time spent at the interview, because you are working for the agency itself during that time. I've never gotten paid for doing that, because most of the time I haven't actually been working for the agency at the time — being hired by the agency was conditional on being accepted by the client — but that's how it's supposed to work.

I didn't say it, but that is also my understanding. I'm pretty certain it would be here, and I would hope it's the case in most sane places.
But that's only part of the , another being that it means TikTok relies (hopefully not entirely) essentially on random unpaid and unaccountable nobodies for their support. As the video shows, there is no way this could go wrong...

And some that are definitely not sane. Specifically, I'm thinking of California.

It's hilarious how these fuckers get impatient and all like "be serious, listen what I say" in shitty English.
Are you asking or telling me?
