Can't wait to see something like this for the Perseverance images...

The MRO watched Perseverance parachuting:
Enhance!

The have a fucking helicopter! Hope it has enough memory to take video and then have it trickle back to Earth, but even stills would be fantastic.

Didn't remember what MRO stands for:
Well, that's not what I'm looking for. Let's try this:

The video I posted above explains why they don't send video back (nothing moves!) so stills are actually better considering the bandwidth (33K, except for an 8m window where it can talk to an orbiter at 2M)
Somewhere I heard (and can't remember the numbers) they were talking about the rotation speed of the blades - something like 10x faster than a normal drone. (My first thought was 'why?', quickly followed by 'duh - the atmo is thin!')
-
Hur hur, Perseverance got a big 'ol butt...

@boomzilla I know. The desired answer was, I think, the second search result of the second search, after the currency conversion BS. But the currency conversion was first. Seriously, who in the entire history of the internet has ever cared about the conversion rate between Mauritanian Ouguiyas and Argentine Pesos?

I saw that, but that's with the camera not moving (significantly) either. Video from a helicopter would still be cool.

Really cool that they managed to land it - let's hope it returns interesting data as well as nice pictures!

I'm waiting for them to declare independence. If science fiction has taught us anything, Mars always rebels.

Audio’s a bit rough but not laden with crucial details; it’s worth a watch
