@Deadfast I think the Essential phone was the first one to introduce the notch, but I could be wrong. I do refuse to believe it was the iPhone though, because it never is.

Sure, it may not have been the iPhone that introduced it, but it's certainly what popularised it. Nowadays you can't throw a set of wired headphones (because what else are you going to do with them now that Apple had killed the headphone jack) without hitting a notch.

Don't forget that Apple invented removing the physical Home button with the iPhone X, a technology that wasn't ready before the iPhone X had the hardware and software to handle such a drastic change. Which is why the iPhone 8 still has the button, the hardware was just a tiny bit too weak to support not having a physical Home button. Apple has guaranteed me of this fact by telling me that they've always wanted to remove the Home button and I cannot see any other reasons as to why that didn't happen before now.

I my BlackBerry running Android with no notch, a real headphone jack, and a real keyboard. It's almost as if they're trying to build a good device that's actually useful, and not just mindlessly copy all of Apple's iDiocy!
