Where is my VAMT database?
-
OK, so I made a new virtual machine for one of our users to remote into. I ran the Volume Activation Management Tool (VAMT) to activate the new machine.
And VAMT told me that it can't connect to its SQL Server 2012 database.
WTF?
So I looked around to see if there was a SQL Server 2012 monitoring tool or similar installed. I ran the System Configuration Check Report, and one of the items failed:
FacetWOW64PlatformCheck: Determines whether SQL Server Setup is supported on this operating system platform.
UH, ok. VAMT was just working the other day.
WTF?

Apparently some munchkin stopped the service.

In the name of the Lollipop Guild?

@masonwheeler No, the munchkin just got back from a dungeon crawl.

That's like a pub crawl, but they're only allowed to drink Bud Light?

@Captain Time to examine who actually needs their admin permissions.
