This Florida teacher wanted to show her students what snow is (because only two had seen snow so far), so she had her sister send her a small snowman overnight, all the way from Kentucky:
-
@JBert that staining you see there is why you need to field-dress a snowman before you mail it. Who the hell is gonna want to eat that now?
-
@JBert They should've packed that sucker in dry ice. Looks like it just relied on styrofoam.

I've stuff shipped to me with thick solid ice packs that lasted for days. It might not be cold enough for snow, but they last.
We reuse the ice packs until they are unusable. They are great for coolers.

Am I the only one who initially read "Bar" with the meaning that applies specifically to lawyers?
As it is, the story is a lot less entertaining than I thought it would be.
Humph!

As it is, the story is a lot less entertaining than I thoughtNaked state bar proceedings are just like regular state bar proceedings, except naked. It's a lifestyle choice vs sexual - grow up.

@boomzilla My wife took a look and said, "Deodorant undermines intelligence."

@djls45 this may be a premature assessment but seems fair, we already had evidence on the long-term effects of high aluminum bioavailabilty on intelligence.

Some shops like to sell you gold-plated wiper blades to pad the bill. And will replace them unless you state in writing (must be notarized) that you do not want that service.
Better shops explicitly ask you whether you want those to be inspected and replaced if needed.

@boomzilla
That, orsomething very similar, has been posted before. It must have been somebody else equally stupid, because that incident was only a few days ago.Filed under: Druggies aren't smart.

A police frisk of the Wendy's regular recovered a gold badge with the words “Concealed Weapon Permit.” A photo of the confiscated badge, seen at right, was released by police.
Either the photo or the writer needs its hue and saturation adjusted.

@hungrier I wonder how is that even supposed to work. The nuke does not give out significant energy at rest. Did they publish this 11 days too late?

I made a half-hearted attempt to find out more (read, searched cnn.com) because I wondered the same thing. No hits.

@Watson Snopes, unfortunately, now have the journalistic integrity of breitbart, but, this not being a political issue, they can probably still be trusted on it.

@boomzilla Not just trapped in a space only 8 inches (20 cm) wide, not just naked and trapped in a space only 8 inches wide, but naked and trapped upside-down in a space only 8 inches wide.
Police had said the woman was naked, and the captain confirmed that appeared to be the case.
"Appeared to be?" They couldn't figure that out for certain? Maybe she was wearing invisible clothing?
Maybe she's an empress?

What is the crime he is charged with? Helping his wife enjoy her last hours alive.
Is there any evidence indicating that she didn't want to do any of it?
What a better time to try a highly addictive drug than just before you die? Assuming she liked metal that is far better than dying to the sounds of a hospital. Again, assuming she liked have sex with her husband, better at home than trying to do it in the hospital (might accidentally press the call button).
