@PJH It's not exactly a surprising revelation, though. I mean, it's not that long ago that infants were not treated with painkillers and anaesthesia as much (sometimes not even at all) because it was thought that their ability of feeling pain was not fully developed.
As recently as 1999, it was commonly stated that babies could not feel pain until they were a year old
[...]
Infant Jeffrey Lawson underwent open heart surgery in 1985. His mother, Jill R. Lawson, subsequently discovered that he had been operated on without any anaesthesia, other than a muscle relaxant.

In case anyone was wondering why Boeing suddenly found so many software problems: They love outsourcing.Someone didn't do the needful.

Boeing outsourced software engineering to India.
Another thing. Engineers in India are getting more and more expensive. The stated hourly wage is actually pretty close to mine after taxes. Then again, I live in Finland.

During the latest financial crisis the SEK took a dive, so that you could get a Swedish programmer for about 2 to 4/3 of an Indian one. Problem is that we've had a raging lack of programmers for a decade or two now, so even if you'd get them for the same price as the Indian ones, you can't have them because there aren't any available.

If you look at how many companies from abroad have opened offices over here to hire cheap programmers - definitely.
And another, a bit less known similarity: we're one of the leaders in importing garbage, including highly toxic substances, from all over EU, and having them magically disappear later on.
