📥 Why: All outgoing email has been globally disabled by an administrator?

NOTABUG
@CarrieVS linked to my post from hers, and Discourse did what it always doesOh, well. That's stupid. I still say it's a bug. Usability bug.
-
the arrow on the quote is ponting up, not right
You trust that thing's sense of direction?
Go click on one in the OP in Discopædia and tell me how that worked out for you.
-
There used to be arrows on the links on the right to hint at if it was from a thread linking to that post or that post linking to another thread. It was one of the early things to go.
-
You trust that thing's sense of direction?
In this case, it's correct. This post:

It was one of the early things to go.
Yeah, someone got confused or overwhelmed or got the vapors or something. Really tragic.
-
I do notice they still have classes on the links saying whether they are inbound or outbound, so some custom CSS could put the arrows back in.
-
-
you ever hear the story of the nurse who drank from a potty of cholera* diarrhoea because she mistook it for a large coffee cup?
[Discoquotefail due to mobile.]
Are you sure you're not thinking of that one Austin Powers movie?

Are you sure you're not thinking of that one Austin Powers movie?
No, although I never checked the references in the book I read about it in. It was a kids' science book titled Deadly Diseases.
-
I only noticed that after I'd linked to this post from the status thread. I assumed it was noting that it had been linked to. Does Discourse do that?
Discoursistently, yes. Youcanused to be able to tell it's an incoming link because it doesn't have an arrow.
-
It was a useful feature, thus it had to go.
-
When I get back in front of a computer, I'll see about some custom CSS to bring it back.
-
a.outbound::after { content: " \2190"; } a.inbound::after { content: " \2192"; }
It's a start…

It's kind of cool to see database order change from day to day. Maybe the pgsql guys have been reading @blakeyrat's database ordering rants.
Probably due to MVCC*.
-
I was thinking more like this:
.gutter .track-link { padding-left:0; } a.outbound::before { content: "\f061\00a0"; font-family: FontAwesome; } a.inbound::before { content: "\f060\00a0"; font-family: FontAwesome; }
It puts the arrow before the link, and with the padding rule change, you don't get the first line of those links a bit farther out than the rest of the lines.
EDIT: Just realized I had the arrows backwards.

But it's more likely this forum was written by dumbshits who don't know anything about anything.
Seeing as they don't know how to make quoting work, in a forum software, whatever they do know is worthless...
