Terminology that drives you crazy

the speed of electrons going through a network full of nodes and gates
Is about 0.1mph. Again, not really a factor here.
-
Your electrons are slow, you should upgrade their engine.

Seriously though, electrons really do move at a snail's pace; it's the wavefront that moves at near-lightspeed ;)

I wanted to post something funny, but couldn't. Fucking lag.

Or are you all just trolling him for kicks?
I think I was pretty up front about that.

Hey! There's only one fox who gets to do that to me!
Like I said, "INB4."
OK, more terminology hatred: When someone talks about a percent increase as is ambiguous about what the percentage is based on.

Related: Any time anyone uses values over 100% for the amount of effort they put in.
Just say 'a fuckton' already!

A fuckton is 1k+.
I think you were going for 'shitload' which is 100+.

I think you might have misplaced a couple of zeros.
0.00028 (metres / second) =0.000626342162 miles per hour

at three amps through 1mm copper wire....
hmmm....
working backwards (and assuming that the only variable we're going to change is the ampreage) that's
0.0447 is one tenth og a mile per hour in m/s to make the units work out rightwhich according to Wolfram Alpha is a little over 500 amps.
not sure that wire would be able to carry that much current, but that's what it would take to get that electron drift velocity.

ATM Machine
I have heard that there's a porn series titled ATM Machines, where "Machines" is not a redundant part of the title...

I am sorry, could you hold on for just a second, need to fetch my bazookiod... It was somewhere around here...

If 400ms is unplayable, then the netcode sucks donkey-balls.
If you can write code which can accurately and unfailingly predict the future up to 400ms ahead, then I'd suggest your talents are wasted on writing game networking code...

I never said it would be unfailingโฆ

I never said it would be unfailingโฆ
Well, go back and edit it into your post then. :P

No
And stop making me post; I'm trying to cut downโฆ

But if the only place you can successfully predict that far ahead is in a video game...

I knew you were going to say that.
