Fast parcel delivery
-
Well it's 21:30 on the latest day of expected delivery and it's still not here.
If you want one of the games that I was going to give you, just check out my post on the game gifting thread from 4 days ago ;-).

As a west coast American, I must also point out that the eastern seaboard of my own country is
full of a bunch of little States I frequently make fun of.so much better than here than I want to admit.FTFY :D

What's its current status?

Shipment re-labelled
Mon Feb 23 - Accepted
That's not the delivery company's fault. That's the shipper for not actually getting the package to them on time.
-
linehaul makes me think of tuna. Package must be a whopper!
-
Whoppers are made of beef though, not tuna.

Any other "definition" of first world is wrong
The modern definition of first world is the developed countries. Places where healthcare is widely available and cheap and the metric system is in use. The third world is places where only the wealthy get healthcare, the poor get judicial executions, and everybody uses various Imperial systems of measurement.
-
-
-
Don't forget extremely high percentages of the population being imprisoned! That's always a sign of massive governmental corruption and systemic failure of the sort rampant in third world countries.

I can't think of any.

Good news everyone: I've just been notified that the package has arrived. Unfortunately it managed to arrive in the brief period of the day when there's nobody home.
It's a 5 person flat for fuck's sake. How can this even happen.
-
it managed to arrive in the brief period of the day when there's nobody home.
...How can this even happen.I was shoveling the walk yesterday, and the postman cheerfully walked up (through the snow-covered yard, naturally) handed me my package and my mail and moved on.
I deposited my goodies on the porch by the front door.
Finishing my chore I went behind the house to put away my snow tools, and went in via the back door.
Opened the front door from inside:
- My mail.
- The package - wait, not mine, my wife's...??
- A big box ... the package I had been expecting.
Face it. The Post is Pure Magic.
-
It's a conspiracy to ensure that you never get your package. The whole world is out to get you.
-
It's a conspiracy to ensure that you never get your package
@anonymous234 , he's right, my 2nd package, wasn't my wife's after all... it was yours. ;)
-
How can this even happen.
Delivery companies hate everyone and everything, and they especially hate actually delivering a parcel to its rightful owner. They will do anything within their power to ensure your parcel remains undelivered.
-
I've had two parcels delivered this week.
Both on the day claimed up front.
-
Would you like a prize, or will the two parcels suffice?
-
If you're planning on posting the prize? I'm not sure I fancy my chances on a third.
-
Oh god, the company that had to deliver this goddamn package has some seriously y internal organization problems.
- After failing to deliver it on Friday, they send me not one, but three emails informing me of it and asking me to call them to schedule another delivery time. They had already sent me two to tell me that it was on its way, so that's 5 emails in 2 days.
- I call their office the same day. I tell the nice lady on the other side that I'll be home all Monday afternoon (today). She says no problem, and assures me that it will be delivered "between 4 and 8pm".
- At 9 am today I receive another email telling me that it's on the way. At 10:57 I, again, receive 3 more emails telling me that they couldn't deliver it because I wasn't home .
- At 12:30 I arrive home and wait until 20:00 to write this, just in case they actually decide to actually hang by at the time we agreed. No luck. I'll call them again tomorrow.
Bonus wtf (also name and shame), their website throws a "Bad Request" if you try to access it without the "www.": http://mrw.es/

Can I refer you to my post upthread at this point?

Unless it's Amazon; here in the UK, they even deliver on Sundays!

Unless it's Amazon; here in the UK, they even deliver on Sundays!
Round here, almost all (non-post) deliveries are actually handled by the same guy. He's nice, but really small.
-
-
For a few quid, yeah. It's handy occasionally though.
I had Firefly and Serenity (Blu-Rays both) delivered this Sunday just gone, free of charge
-
Eh? Prime?
The last Sunday delivery I had was like £8.
-
Eh? Prime?
Nope; just your average everyday Super Saver ;)And it's not the first free Sunday delivery I've had either
-
Oh, so you didn't ask for it, it just happened to arrive Sunday?
I guess that's a Manchester thing. Nothing around here gets delivered on a Sunday unless you pay Amazon logistics £8.99 for the privilege.

Good heavens, what is wrong with these people?
I called them again yesterday. I told them that they had delivered at the wrong time the last time, and that I would be home on Thursday afternoon. I told them as clearly as I could "Thursday, two days from now, not tomorrow". They apologized for the mistake and said it was no problem.
And they delivered it again today, Wednesday . Thankfully I was home. The funny thing is they actually wrote "Thursday 05/03 16-19h" on the box itself, and still got it wrong somehow.

Brains are wonderful things.
Wouldn't it be great if everyone had one?
-
Amazon has started having USPS deliver on Sundays in America as well.
