Does nobody have a dictionary
It's almost like I didn't make a crack about unusual definitions of words just this very afternoon. Or that a bunch of people haven't yet read that.
-
Does nobody have a dictionary
it saddens me that i didn't need the dictionary.
unfortunately that did not stop the mental image.....
-
it saddens me that i didn't need the dictionary.
Ah, so you're saying there won't be an awkward entry in the TIL thread.
-
no. not from me anyway.
-
unfortunately that did not stop the mental image
This is the best picture I could find; GIS woudn't give me animated gifs. But imagine that's Peter Capaldi instead of some emo twit, or maybe the Mentat from the Dune movie, because it would be much funnier that way.
-
-
Piter De Vries
Wasn't there an older one, too, with a more pouchy, Peter Falk-y sort of face?
-
ooh. you want Thufir Hawat
also possessing amazing eyebrows.
-
6000 years of evolution and all I got were these eyebrows.
-
also possessing amazing eyebrows.
That's the one. Now imagine him waggling them. But don't zoink over it.
-
His mannerisms always cracked me up and scared the shit out of me at the same time.
-
-
or maybe the Mentat from the Dune movie
now look what you've made me do.
also i'm pretty sure that metadata is wrong..... dune is not that long...... is it?
-
Does nobody have a dictionary
Watson ‘ejaculates’ twice as often as Sherlock Holmes in Conan Doyle’s stories. There are 23 ejaculations in total, with 11 belonging to Watson. On one occasion, Holmes refers to Watson’s ‘ejaculations of wonder’ being invaluable; on another, Watson ejaculates ‘from his very heart’ in the direction of his fiancée. Holmes is only responsible for six ejaculations, although it is not clear which of the two men ejaculate in the passage below...

Plex seems a bit iffy with lengths of videos sometimes. I've never quite figured out if it's getting the length from the file, and there's something funky in the file causing it, or the metadata is borked.
-
, or the metadata is borked.
it confused me so i checked. the metadata in the file is 137 minutes.
i have NFC where plex got the number it did.....
it's also wrong about the audio. it's 5.1 AAC not stereo AAC.....
-
it's 5.1 AAC not stereo AAC.....
I've never seen it get that wrong. Run time of a video is a different matter though. Clearly it just makes it up as it goes along.
-
oh... i see what happened. it found two dune video files....
a partial encode (in a completely different folder, for a different movie) that's truncated at 2KB bytes (apparently just enough for metadata) and the full file....
and guess which one it used for metadata for about half my library??
-
It's a right git when it finds two videos it thinks are the same thing.
-
yep. what's really fun is convincing it to use a sequence of episodes that isn't the "canonical" one
for example i have my futurama episodes in the netflix ordering and it forgets about twice a year about that and reapplies the DVD ordering (which is of course different for about half the episodes)
-
now look what you've made me do.
I most certainly did not.
also i'm pretty sure that metadata is wrong..... dune is not that long...... is i?
No, it just feels like it. You know, like "I spent a year in Cleveland one week".
-
Plex seems
What's a plex? I live in a [metroplex][1] and I've heard of plexiglass[2], but those're probably not the same thing.

Holo?!
Beats me. I found that doing a GIS for "plexiglass". Worse, the picture that came up isn't even on that page any more. But I found a funnier one, so everything worked out.
-
Post hattening, of course.
Sure, but will have to be a different color than the usual one.
-
Beats me. I found that doing a GIS for "plexiglass".
it is... and GIS is WIERD sometimes.
-
Sure, but will have to be a different color than the usual one.
Yeah - that's The Hatter's problem though.
-
it is... and GIS is WIERD sometimes.
I know. I was looking for the "least-sensible picture to use as a link on the word 'plexiglass'" picture.
-
well you found one!

You could like his post and then undo the like.
Of course, nobody but you would know, but at least you'd know.

Unless you have one of those MIB pencils with the red light thing ;)

And I could infer, thanks to this post

Three-in-one; a personal best
Enough for a badger, if there was one to cover that sort of thing.

one of those MIB pencils with the red light thing
Neurolyser*
Or neurolizer over the pond, presumably.
