The thread of movie titles and absence of badges. In previous episodes, it was signs you're getting older, chiropractic vs. medicine, atheism vs. Mormonism and religion vs. science with no existentialism nor philosophy thrown in

interesting philisophical points, but..... i just can't help laughing at the way he makes them
My favorite: (paraphrased) "All it takes is a casual stroll through the lunatic asylum to show that faith proves nothing."
-
My pendantry is only limited by my imagination.
did you see my hidden comment that caused my post to go all italic?
I saw it come back from italics.
-
Now I read it. And obviously I agreed that it was kinda interesting. We only need have a flamewar if someone starts one, though we could still have interesting discussion.
-
Did you see my hidden comment where I escaped the "i" to keep it from going italics?
yes, the escaping was unecessary btw. <intentional> is not a valid HTML tag and gets stripped.
-
I saw it come back from italics.
noticed that. looks like there's a different code path when it gets rebaked that closes the unclosed tag earlier.
-
I have started doing it out of habit, because you never know when their parser is going to go all, "That's enough, I know what they meant and now I will do it."
-
implies a positive amount
I think your head is implying a positive amount.
It's more or less the fact that if 0 were, in fact, the certainty regarded in the statement "with any certainty", then the statement itself becomes empty/meaningless/tautology/unparadox.
-
I think your head is implying a positive amount.
I think your mom is implying a positive amount.
It's more or less the fact that if 0 were, in fact, the certainty regarded in the statement "with any certainty", then the statement itself becomes empty/meaningless/tautology/unparadox.
Or some dude trying to troll with plausibly pedantically dickweedish deniable language.
-
I think your mom is implying a positive amount.
When she writes numbers?
I mean, it's only negative like this (1).
-
I have started doing it out of habit, because you never know when their parser is going to go all, "That's enough, I know what they meant and now I will do it."
like deciding to rebake and close my italic tag early.....?
-
Or some dude trying to troll with plausibly pedantically dickweedish deniable language.
Or, just major trolling that after the fact turned out to include plausibly pedantically dickweedish language as a matter of coincidence.
-
Certainly.
-
The coincidental troll.
Sounds like a really bad romantic comedy involving hopelessly socially awkward outcasts.
-
Don't give Hollywood any ideas. They turn out enough turds already.
-
The coincidental troll
"If trolling were romance, then we're all guilty"
-
really bad romantic comedy involving hopelessly socially awkward outcasts
Also, this has been done a few hundred times before...
-
"If trolling were romance, then we're all guilty"
So what you are saying is...blakeyrat has a major bromance going on for all of us?
-
Why else would he still be here?

Touchë.

Another movie title paraphrase.
Intergalactic infighting:
The irrelevant event.(infighting because it turns out, they were fighting themselves.... on purpose....)
-
I am lacking the imagination to figure out either of them so far. I suck at this.
-
-
I was trying to figure out the entire thing, now I realize the second line was commentary on the first.
-
-
here's one
Silent running, not silent enough to escape undetected.
-
-
huh. that's a movie?
not the one i was thinking of, but i guess it could apply.
-
Silent running, not silent enough to escape undetected.
Are we paraphrasing the title, or the plot?
-
plot. (with minor liberties)
was it supposed to be the title?
-
-
dammit!
Ok, I was trying to think of a title.
-
i can do title.... hmmm..... going to have to think for a moment though
-
Silent running, not silent enough to escape undetected.
If we are doing plot, then I suggest "The Hunt for Red October", but really that could describe a lot of movies...
-
Catch me if you can?
-
i can do title.... hmmm..... going to have to think for a moment though
The problem with plot is that Hollywood recycles a lot of plot lines. Like...most of them.
-
If we are doing plot, then I suggest "The Hunt for Red October", but really that could describe a lot of movies...
DING DING DING! we have a winner!
but your point is taken that was bordering on vaguebooking there.

Ridiculous literal interpretation of classic boat game, "You sunk my shit"?

the first one's for a different movie though and possibly a little harder?
-
Copulating within a giant apple.

-
Talking horse bushbender.
-

i've got Ed for talking horse (cause i can't remember the name of the other famous talking horse) and shrub for bush..... but yeak not making a connection
and i seriously doubt you men edward sizzorhands
-
you men edward sizzorhands
Why not? I did.
I guess it's not fair, I got away from the title a little bit.... but what else could I have done.
-
huh.... right by luck then.
you still havent guessed this one:

Hmmmm, this would probably be more fun with more people...which would mean a new thread for the specific purpose.
Not that I care if you continue here, it is just a suggestion. This thread has evolved so much from where it began that it is no longer the same species, in the same branch of the taxonomical tree, on even the same planet that it started from.
