hmmm... interesting idea. how did i miss it?
on it was in that thread. i'm afraid i only skim /t/1000
-
whoops, forgot to add "R". (Although ... did @royal_poet ever play with @sockbot?)
-
Yes mistress Miriam the Discsorceress, I shall appear as summoned.
-
> aliceif:
WTF way:Use "mistress" for every name that starts with "A" or "Y".It would probably be more accurate than the current system.
I think @abarker and @Arantor would like to have a word with you.
-
And you wouldn't?
Interesting!
Edit - PJH:
-
As I pointed out there, this method would not be approved by the likes of @Arantor, @algorythmics, and myself.
-
Did they ever give you a whoosh badge?
-
-
It is a good thing that flags have been issued.
-
-
(Although ... did @royal_poet ever play with @sockbot?)
not that i recall.....
so starts with 'AC' or 'AL' or 'RO' or 'YA'
does that cover all of us?

(?!Ar)
-
you'd like to be referred to as female? or is my knowledge of RE failing me?
-
It was a negative assertion, as in 'needs to not match Ar' but yes, that would work I think for now...
-
oh. in that case i'll implement it!
-
Edit - PJH:
-
... I'm not sure if I should feel honoured or appalled.
-
-
it's an honour to have you among the ranks of those that "didn't get the joke"
:-P

I love the contrast between your avatar and the emoji.

Considering I was at #10 when these badges were first granted, and yet people above me were the first to fall, I wonder where these stats are at now. Would you kindly provide an update when you have a chance, @PJH?

And, yes, barring the QUERY part at the end, that is the query being run for the 4 badges.
hmm... what we need is an admin bot that automatically runs all the queries that we ask @pjh for and posts the results for the statsporn enjoyment.
I did start work on a site that would do that sort of thing with the most recent backup that I'd downloaded - got distracted however...

we might need @apapadimoulis's permission to actually go live with the bot of course. and there's the trust issue where the bot account would have to be of sufficient privilage to grab the backups where @accalia is not.... still we are interested!
-
Few issues - off the top of my head:
- It would need to be an admin account to be able to actually grab the backups.
- Daily backups are now 1.5G. The partial backup that I manually kick off to get just the database (well todays) is 170M.
- The backup contains information such as password hashes and private messages
Personally I'd like to do some sort of plugin to do this sort of thing with the live data, but my last attempt failed since the version of docker available on Centos 6.5 is too old to run Discourse..
-
- solveable, but tricky
- ouch. also solveable but even trickier.
- oh [excrement]. i hadn't thought of that....
well i guess that idea goes in the "it sounded like a good idea at the time..." bin.
-
-
hmm... yeah. i mean that could all be solved, but that's just way too much liability for me.
maybe if i was already an admin and so already had access to the backup.
but i'm not an admin, and not terribly interested in being one, so that idea was an interesting one but has to go into cold storage.
however if @pjh or a disco dev implements a plugin that allows getting these statistics live or semi live with all the sensitive info stripped out, then i will happily have a bot consume those and draw the pretty pictures (by generating SVGs on the fly in JS i think)
-
-
you've heard what i wrote @sockbot in, right?
besides would be fun!
-
Yes mistress Accalia++, I shall appear as summoned.

Agreed! Welcome @aliceif!

Amazing. Without consciously trying, I've increased my post count, and thus my rank.
-
-
I've been slacking, if blakey is ahead of me.
-
Kerbal Space Program?
-
KSP is a barrier to getting the too much time on my hands badge.
-
-
Note to self: Immediately buy when a Steam Sale appears.
-
Probably. There's aren't too many threads where I actively engage in a long conversation.
-
you have a long way to go to match the likes of myself, @arantor and @frostcat....
I'm not even gonna try.
-
can't we wait till it gets up to 500 posts before we do that? who knows it might die on its own!
-
i feel hurt.
not to much, just enough to be noticable.
-
-
Hmm. Time for a certain UUID to make another appearance?
Nope, that topic is actually on topic...
-
Nope, that topic is actually on topic...
I'm sure there must be a bot around to express my feelings on that matter... :)
-
not any of mine, i think....
-
Nooooo, that would be the Bot Which Shares Jeff's Name, that I won't summon because it ain't me Doing It Wrong™...
-
codlnghorror?
he's a bot?
;-)
notice the spelling.
-
Now I'm curious how many of my posts are in disqualifying threads, since I'm closing in on my next 2^ badge.
-
Will need another query...
Remind me Monday when I'm back near a proper keyboard.
