🖎 The officious song of the day comment thread!
-
- That's just crazy talk.
- I think you mean three people and three pianos.
-
Still doing Scooter here…
:whimper:
It's back! It will never end! Have ... to... listen ...
Bastard!
-
Wouldn't the emergency number be 112, in whatever country Scooter are from?
-
Assuming Scooter are British, both 999 and 112 work ;)
-
Apparently UK is 999. There are some references to UK in many songs. Dunno... UK rave scene? Trying to appear as if they are English? I have no idea what that's about. But one of the songs is called "Back in the UK" among other stuff.
But yes, Germany should be 112.

Filed under: It's one of the rare ones (emoticons) that work at this size, leave me be!

I remember reading somewhere that H. P. Baxxter really likes England. And English oldtimers.
-
They're German.
H. P. Baxxter really likes England
I think it says on Wikipedia that he worked for a while in Sheffield. (Awwww, feel sorry for him!)

well i could.... or i could feed the MIDI into Sythesia.... like the video did!
-
…build a robot?
You'd run into problems accelerating the hammers in the piano fast enough. Well, without setting fire to things with the amount of current draw…

heat dissapation would still be an issue. good news is you would need at least two pianos because of the overstruck keys
-
Pneumatics/hydraulics
You still need actuators, and those parts where the note rate hyperaccelerates will be absurdly challenging on any physical system.

-
i think some people compose stuff just to make pretty pixtures in Synthesia

(fun starts at about the half minute mark)

Good thing I have headphones connected, but I'm not wearing them; the cacophony that looks like it's producing looks enough to drive a girl insane…
-
It's actually not bad at all.
At worst it sounds like those songs played by printers. At some point it's waveform reproduction through lots of super-fast notes.
-
It's actually not bad at all.
Actually, you're right; it ain't half bad. I guess the cacophony is lessened somewhat by smart volume levelling

I have no idea why, but being reminded of that song made me think of this one:

(all of it)Don't post that stuff while I'm at work! Have to... watch... can't listen.. only...
-
YT is no longer blocked at work but I can't watch any videos because of an infinispinner
-
You scared me!
I thought that was going to autoplay.
-
This video contains content from WMG, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds

Does it implement the chunky salsa rule?
No discussion int the SOTD thread.
AFAIK, no. It's pretty dumbed-down actually, but the setting is nice, and I like the combat system (I'd say it's near-identical to XCOM: Enemy Unknown but with a bit more depth to it).
I'd recommend checking out Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut though. It includes the campaign from "Returns" but adds some features and the campaign story and setting are much better.
That said about the combat, the winner of best P&P => (graphical at least) video game combat adaptation is still ToEE. Why doesn't that thing have a campaign editor, it would still be played, I guarantee it!
Filed under: It's also unbalanced as hell, but I know the reason for that

Radiohead - Ceremony (Joy Division cover)
Not sure how I feel about this. I love Radiohead and I love Joy Division but I don't like cover versions that sound too much like the original.
Thinking....
Thinking...
Verdict: I enjoyed it but would have liked them to Radiohead it up a bit more.

I already posted in the Song of the Day thread today, and more specifically I already posted Autechre in the Song of the Day thread today. But this is 25 minutes of greatness, so I shall post it here, where you can all ignore it and carry on with doing whatever it is you came here to do.

EDIT: DIESCURSO! WAI YUO NO LINKY MAI POSTeS TOGETHAR?!

ToEE
Yes, this thing was basically as close to pen and paper D&D as it gets, but the story AFAIR was really damn boring and lackluster. Which would be just fine if there was that campaign editor, but as you said...
-

This bit is not really the game's fault, they used an old module and that's simply the way it was, apparently:
Well, other than picking that module as a basis, of course.
Also, the balance was FUBAR due to, from what I read, the whole game already being pretty much completed using 3rd edition rules and in the last minute Wizards of the Coast forced Troika into switching to 3.5 and they didn't have the time to rebalance it.
-
Ah, the Pimple of Temperamental Weevils. I remember that from school...
-
I'm not 100% certain, but it recently came to my attention Aphex Twin may have been releasing music anonymously on SoundCloud.
This is a definitely a version of '101 Rainbows' off of the second Caustic Window LP:
There's quite a lot of other stuff there as well. 1:30am is a barrier to further investigation for me...

The ban was overturned 8 years later.

(It was always fun trying to find information about µ-Ziq in the early 90's, before Unicode was a thing...)
If I ever start a band, I'm naming it REVERSED VICTORY HAND
