This is my favourite Grand Theft Audio song, was then going to reply with Stoopid Ass (before reading to the bottom) but then you posted that anyway. One like is not enough.

Continuing the discussion from Song of the day:

i wanted to post this song to annoy anyone who remembers the days when this was a fad.
turns out Youtube's so full of covers and remixes of it by now that i was unable to find a reasonably high quality video of the original music video.
i went with this one because it has decent audio and the original video, although the video quality sucks.
oh and i wasted about 2 hours pouring through those parodies trying to find a good one..... What has been heard cannot be unheard. man did that backfire on me.

With my Google powers, the best I can find is just what you have, or the same video, just hosted on another site.
-
thanks for the assist. maybe someone has better googlefu than we. maybe not. it's not like the video is actually that important. ;-)

Less than 30 seconds.

And me. The Wiki for the proper title is the 2nd result on Google UK ;)

I'm sure I'm the thousandth poster complaining about this in this topic,
but it's still no fun when you browse the song thread, start listening to a song you like, then scroll up to see if any other nice songs are there1 and have Disscross unload the song as you do.1 There aren't
-
As I was working through the thread @accalia's choice of Bach's Little Fugue in G-minor gave me PTSD flashbacks to first semester Ear Training in college and having to sing and hand-sign a fugue.
-
... sorry? I like fugues and the lesser fugue in G-minor is particularly nice. :-D

Liked. Would have like even better if Chrome and my video driver hadn't crashed the first time I tried to watch it.
What? No, of course it's not the fault of the 37452 tabs I have open!

I'm trying to remember when I first became familiar with that. It may have been in a music appreciation class in college, but I've always loved classical music, and Baroque tends to be one of my favorites within the broad definition of "classical" (as opposed to Classical) music, so it could well have been quite a bit before that.

man did that backfire on me.
Serves you right for even reminding us of that turd-on-a-plane

In US, it was a fad.
Over here, it was on the radio. And it wasn't connected to any Internet memes, by the time the memes hit we were already done with it.

That's why I listen to the first 30ish seconds of it and, if it's promising, off to the youtubes in a new tab.

It was a terrible period ...

Great morning starter.

I still can't believe that this is real.
At the same time, there was a band around these parts whose name literally translates to "Some like it hot".
The song seems to be from 1984., Wikipedia says the band was formed in 1985. Hmmm....
Might as well leave this here, even though you guys won't understand a word... well, one

I counted five: Flash, Number, Eleven, America, California.

Well, ok, I don't remember the lyrics... And I don't think the intro bit is really a part of the song but I'll let it slide :P

So there you have it. It's a song about pancreatic inflammations. And lobsters.

This song keeps coming to my head:
How did you do that?!
It just entered my mind a few minutes ago, before I opened this thread.

I saw the name Testament and got excited. But then it wasn't the band Testament. Then I had to put up with Discourse not letting me quote that post to put it in here, and then a one-box failure from posting the link here instead.

I had the same experience, except I got distracted and didn't come back to complain.

The drums really make this song for me.

Have you heard of them before? I learned of them from the best video game soundtrack ever, and though some of their stuff is decent.

Their album "www.pitchshifter.com" would be the one to check out.

Man, that guy could dance. No one really taps any more.
The bit right after he opens the mirrored doors reminded me of the pink elephants bit in Dumbo.

Gregory Hines was the only (high profile) guy I could really think of. That video was uploaded in 2006, but there was no date on it. Still Hines looks pretty old there and the other guy pretty young.
The real issue is probably that there aren't great venues for doing this sort of thing. I mean, we don't have musicals like that any more. Maybe Beyoncé could have some tap dancing background dancers or something.

What is this sorcery? A Metallica song I haven't heard?
EDIT: Oh it's from the 90's. That's why.

Who's Metallica?

Savion Glover is the best known, and best, tap dancer alive today. Hines is quoted as saying, "Savion is possibly the best tap dancer that ever lived." He's perhaps best known for choreographing and dancing the motion capture for Happy Feet in 2006, or for multiple appearances on Sesame Street in the 90's. His Wikipedia bio says he also choreographed Happy Feet 2 in 2011, but neither that film's article nor IMDB mention him; Wikipedia's legendary accuracy strikes (out) again. Apart from infrequent TV appearances and a US/UK tour last year, he doesn't seem to have done much recently.
The real issue is probably that there aren't great venues for doing this sort of thing. I mean, we don't have musicals like that any more.
Sadly, this is too true.

Who's Metallica?
They're a band that plays Apocalyptica songs with electric guitars.

So you prefer to vote blue, i.e., Democrat? I'm a little surprised…
