🎂The cupcake thread of celebrations.

Why are you celebrating today? Free cupcake picture to anyone who comes up with a reason.
I'm officially a Passable Posterâ„¢!
-
Both of them lost me due to excessive filler and meandering plots, the twin banes of long-running series. I generally stick to 1-2 season shows where they have an actual structure and plan for endings instead of eternally escalating. I did enjoy both shows while I was watching them though.
-
-
the manga was far superior to the anime in both cases.
but if you want epic plot without filler you want something like
Ah! Megami-sama!

I am still angry and bitter.
Maybe what you need isn't a cupcake.
Maybe you need
muffina hug.

We've already had Doctors Smith and Jones in the same episode, thanks.

So violent! Let's exchange that gunpowder for gunpowder green tea and make cupcakes instead:
LOL! Today I'm celebrating walking down Parisian avenues in the shade like a German.

That article seems to have vanished, all I can find are responses. Has it been archived or rehosted someplace?

-
Also, he seems to have had us in mind: "Let's start with a definition, because you Reddit know-it-alls keep your specifics in the pedantry."
Which takes a lot of the fun out of it.
-
Also, this is a good read:
Some time after he wrote the Node is Cancer post, he nuked all of his old posts. At some point this year, he seems to have nuked his entire site.
-
Some guy, as it turns out, archived his entire blog, semi-with permission. Here's teh followup to teh node is cancer post.
Edited to fix copy-paste error
-
Ugh, I had to turn off his font choice to read. Reading now.
-
Hah, that is pretty bad. I assume it's part and parcel of his being a deliberate troll (which he cops to somewhere in the blog.)
-
Ugh, I had to turn off his font choice to read. Reading now.
Ahhhhh! My eyes! That is positively horrible. Shitty fonts are a barrier to reading.

I'm celebrating the fact that today is payday.
-
tomorrow i will be saying that very thing. (and that's good cause i got bills that come due that day)
-
tomorrow i will be saying that very thing.
I wonder whether I have to share my cupcakes with you, or will @Yamikuronue give you your own?
-
well i'm not celebrating yet...
-
today is payday.
Shamrock shake cupcakes:
I wonder whether I have to share
The cupcake fairy is nothing if not generous....
well i'm not celebrating yet...
but you have to wait until tomorrow to get your own.
-
Same here, at least the first part :banana_dance:
-
Shamrock shake cupcakes:
Hopefully the original McDonald's kind, that inspired GeoCities-style late-90s homage web sites, and not the modern pale shadow reincarnation.
-
i am celebrating because payday!
-
-
I am celebrating because my right eye really fucking hurts, and I am a masochist
i guess
-
om nom nom nom!
mmm.... cupcake full of cash
Because you deserve it and not enough people give you cupcakes
-
-
-
thanks, it actually just started doing this again, I think it must have been in anticipation, new cupcakes are not necessary.

I'm told naproxen sodium is the best painkiller OTC; none of them do much for me. If it's a pressure-behind-the-eyes kind of pain, it might be fall allergies, try chlorpheniramine maleate (my bottle is from Walgreens sold as "Wal-finate", it can be kind of hard to find sometimes since it's not a huge name brand). That one works really fast for me, and is the only antihistamine that seems to actually stop symptoms once I start feeling them instead of working as a preventative measure (I take 2 others every morning).
-
fortunately it's no sort of deal like that, just me being a stupid face and rubbing my own eyelashes into my eye, and then complaining when they hurt for the next 5 minutes.
-
Ick. I got nothing then, sorry :)
-

I like that for muscle / joint pain, but good old aspirin + caffeine is still my favorite.
chlorpheniramine maleat
Ah, good old chor-trimeton. I remember taking that as a kid.

AKA Midol
Not according to the picture on their website:
Aspirin + caffeine AKA Anacin. For really bad headaches, Excedrin is best: aspirin + acetaminophen + caffeine. But I try to avoid acetaminophen.
-
Sure, why not:
Is that a "the plank in your own eye" cupcake?
"Well now I've seen everything....but not clearly."
-
For really bad headaches, Excedrin is best
Actually, no, Imitrex is the best for really bad headaches.
For migraines, it's a chemical metabolite of a wildly poisonous fungus!
-
am I the only one that finds it weird that Caffeine is medically labeled as a Diuretic even though that's not the effect it's being added to medication for like 99.9% of the time?
i mean yes it is a diuretic, but you don't take caffeine for that effect..
-
I'm celebrating because I can see the end in sight.
This shitty, worthless job I do every day... This shitty, worthless life I drag myself through...
I'll never have to go through any of that again, so it only gets better from here.
It will all be over soon. I feel a great peace wash over me. I haven't felt better in years, honestly.
That's something to celebrate, right?
-
i mean yes it is a diuretic, but you don't take caffeine for that effect..
Presumably it's added because it's there, even if you're not looking for that. It might matter to people with, say, low levels of some water-soluble vitamin or whatever, because you'd have to take more of it.
-
I can see the end in sight.
Freedom tastes like raspberry. You'll have to trust me on that one.
-
hmm... i could see that i suppose, but i can't help feeling that it's because the drug companies don't want the word stimulant on their packaging.
-
Actually, no, Imitrex is the best for really bad headaches.
Knowing where I was posting, I should have mentioned the OTC <over the counter> nature of my statement. But let's go all the way. Decapitation stops all headaches.
-
Enough morphine and I'll start mailing people real cupcakes. :)
-
let's start a get @Yamikuronue morphine fund!*
* actually let';s not that's a terrible idea.
-
Knowing where I was posting, I should have mentioned the OTC nature of my statement.
Pendantry denied!

I'm celebrating because the rain here cooled off the hot weather for a bit.
