Butter and sour cream (though you could use milk in a pinch) are key ingredients to mashed potatoes. Not to mention the animal fat for the gravy.
And for something funny to make up for that:

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you...a girl named Alan:
And what about a boy named "Andrea". In Italian, that's a male name. In German, female. Poor Italian immigrants in Germany with that name...
Or German tourists in Italy...

My grandmother's first name was Alida, usually called Aly.

As one of our founders, Jeff Atwood, has famously said, “Performance is a feature.”

I am fairly sure Linus Torvalds famously said the same thing at least a couple years earlier.
-
@Bulb there's nothing funny or even wrong about the statement itself, just that is alleged to have said it.
-
@boomzilla There is indeed nothing funny or wrong with the statement itself. But even if did actually say it, he shouldn't be credited for it, because he wasn't either the first one or the most famous one.

@Bulb just the funniest.

Oh, the memories...
Those are really awful desktop numbers, the worst I have ever seen, what is the CPU? Of what year vintage is it?
Six year old desktop 1 should be retired! The CPU in it dates from 2005. That's almost a decade.. smartphones are literally faster than this now.
Sure, blame the hardware for slow software. I guess his waiting game might have paid off by now.

I guess I win the longest wires award for the day…
Anyway, he said
“Performance is a feature.”
He did not add that his software must have it¹, should have it² or even that he wants it to have it. He just said it's a feature .
¹ Like Joel added when he said shipping is a feature.
² Like Linus added (or something to that effect anyway) when he talked about doing four merges in two minutes or any other time he bragged how Linux kicks ass while Windows barely make it to sucking its balls.

The best part is that the headline writer didn't read to the 3rd sentence in the actual story. The word "ambidextrous" is used correctly within the first 20 words of the actual story.

This is the first time in a year that I regret being essentially WFH full time.

@DoctorJones said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:
Well... for all we know he might be. And ambidextrous to boot.

@Gribnit up until a few decades ago, it was very common for immigrants to change their legal names to something more in line with local customs.

Yeah, just like the other one.

@LaoC well... maybe. The guy looks quite old due to grey hair, but the girls can be anything between 30 and 45.
