Now it worked!

Anyone can think of a sensible reason why one should flag one's own post?
-
What if a spambot took over your account?

What if a spambot took over your account?
I would ask you to not report it until I reached the spoon

Anyone can think of a sensible reason why one should flag one's own post?
to ask mod to wikify your post?
or to alert them to a situation that needs immediate action (such as accidentally posting a picture with GPS coords in EXIF data that shouldn't have been left in there)?
-
(such as accidentally posting a picture with GPS coords in EXIF data that shouldn't have been left in there)
Or forgetting to change the name of a function in your code?
But couldn't you just edit or delete that?
Why would I flag my own post as spam or inappropriate? The contact admin option I get. But they removed the 'contact the poster'-option then why leave the others?
-
unlike a certain @luhmann some of us have our edit history public. ;-)
-
Well just delete it like some others have done ...
-
TODO: Flag myself as offtopic on meta.d
-
(post withdrawn by author, will be automatically deleted in 24 hours unless flagged)
-
as one can see.
-
Well just delete it like some others have done ...
Just remembered ... there are of course limits on the delete actions ... so in that case flagging for an admin would be an option ... but still don't get it why you would choose to flag as spam or something ... even if you know and remember that this will at least hide your post ... it wouldn't be really ... discoverable
-
-
Well, I need a reason to post there, first ...
-
getting a post to flag for spam isn't a reason enough?
;-)
-

so you just stumbled upon the sole reason I disabled that
I don't give a flying if you find in amusing to look at what typo's I corrected, 90% of the time I'll leave them bloddy well in even if I've seen them afterwards.
But for those occasions I really wanted to remove something ... there is no easy way of doing that. It should be better that deleted posts are only visible to the creator (so you can un-deleted it) and mods (like flagged posts)
-

I think I have some weirdness you can post ...
-
so you just stumbled upon the sole reason I disabled that
i have thought of that on occasion. but i decided that since 99.9999999999% of the time i'm editing away typos and the rest of the time i don't care if you can see what i posted originally.....
-

Interestingly, I have a delete button for posts that the user hasn't deleted, but not for ones where you have. Now...what do other people see on a post that the user has deleted for users who have post history enabled? I can look at anyone's, being a mod.
However, I think that when I delete a post, it immediately gets hidden from everyone (mods / admins see a "1 post has been removed, click to show" thing).
-

-
which BTW i did flag that post and @boomzilla deferred the flag so that post shouldn't actually be getting deleted any time soon.....
i hope.
-
Oh, I see...I have the "undelete post" control for all of those. So in theory, I could undelete and then delete to get it gone immediately.
So...if you had something like that come up, you could delete the post yourself, flag it for mods to do a real delete and turn off your edit history until a mod deletes. Then a mod comes by and undeletes / deletes and it's really gone, and then you can turn your edit history back on.
So there is a sensible reason to flag your post.
-
So, I just undeleted / deleted @aliceif's original post. I see it in red right now, which I think means you guys can't see it:

i'll confirm that.
@accalia no more sees deleted post.
-
Thank you
-
No problem. I went ahead and zapped @Luhmann's reply, too.
-
-
But what a funny reply it was!
Once I figured out what you guys were talking about, I totally agreed with you. So your post was not in vain!

A 3D Food Printer? They're being worked on, so you'd need to get there first.

A 3D Food Printer?
.... that needs a fancier sounding name.... a name that really sells it.....
Replicator!
i shall call my invention a replicator!
INB4 reference to Stargate SG-1 replicators

You'll be surprised~

I thought the small tag abuse was stopped. Or did we undo that change here with CSS?

it was stopped. mostly.
technically that abuse was abusing the nested KBD tag fix (nested tags past a certain depth are set to display none because FF chokes on nested kbd tags)

well presumably if o could successfully print a edible cookie i could also figure out how to make the same machine print $100 bills. ;-)

Haha.
It's abuse all the way down.
-
-
it's
/(meta-)*abuse/
!

Some kind of 2D printer? I think you've been beaten to that one.
well yes, but this one would print the bill with all those little tells built in. the magnetic ink, the watermarks, the subtle wear patterns, the linen paper, etc.
-
The reflective foil strip/squares?
I want my 100€ bills.
-

Wouldn't it just be easier to get the correct paper and ink and then wash the bills? Most 3D printers print using plastic polymers.
