Holy fuck. You're married?
I never would have called that one.
This thread is not on the trolleybus garage. Let's keep the flaming were they belong.
Seriously, I was not flaming. That was genuine surprise.
You have a sort of idealism about you that marriage tends to snuff out in short order.

Please run
sysctl doSysCheck --full --baseimg "bt://stable.standardfull.cdn.dist.os.bs/plug/39.101/d40.pak" --sync
and tell me what the result is.HTH HAND

As a show of good faith, I apologize for the confusion. I could see how you could take it that way since text has no intonation or body language. No flaming was meant @groo. Honest Injun.

I'm willing to be it's more "what everyone else typed, how close was that?" than actually expecting you to type exactly.

Status: Curious: Is $0.05/MB a good rate for redundant storage?
Currently for capacity requirements similar to your [servername] we are purchasing NetApp 4246 6TB disk shelves at $50,000 each. Usable capacity after right sizing, parity and spares are accounted for you get 100TB usable. So you are looking at like $0.05 per MB of storage.
That's worse than WTFCorp SAN Storage ($1/gb). Which is including internal redundancy, a complete live offsite DR, bandwidth sufficient to sync that shit and staffing to deal with all that shit.
WTFCorp NAS Appliance Storage is about 30c/gb, including internal redundancy, a complete live offsite DR, bandwidth sufficient to sync that shit and staffing to deal with all that shit.
Both are on EMC hardware. Indeed, they use the same fucking drive shelves, just the controllers and connectivity are different.
I suspect you are looking at a misplaced decimal point. Raw, internal cost before staffing and DR on a $50,000 SAN unit should be something like $.05/gb.

And hence would probably have failed, because it would have been pasted in, which doesn't appear very human. ;)

?Yes. But if you do, the timing of inputs into the textbox would not be consistent and exact, hence not a robot. That's why there are some captchas that are essentially "tick this box".

In fact, you'll only ever see the kind of captcha @sloosecannon has if the site is using a version of the API that was outdated in 2014. The captcha @sloosecannon got does not include any special timing checks. It's just a regular captcha.

It'll fit the usual stochastic model for keystrokes entered by humans.

Capital or running costs? Those spend very differently (and there are black-hearted ways to shift things between the two). OTOH, $1000 is fuck all.

Note that random artifical delays are often inserted to such application to fool the apps that try to log it.
For example, in a "trainer" (what we called those bots) for web game that I've seen, the delay between clicking buttons on page is set to 500 - 750ms and additional 500 - 700ms delay is inserted to page location change to fit the time needed by average person to retarget the button on a familar screen.

Luckily I don't anticipate needing much more than $300 if I'm frugal enough. I hope.

Yeah, that's why Google started moving on to "noCaptcha" (the checkmark thing), which only does the more challenging things when (for example) it appears you don't have any google cookies upon loading the captcha.

The weird part about that is that they were using the modern one. Then they changed it for some reason...

That fucking thing whines at me like 95% of the time on Freenode's webchat (I don't encounter them often outside of there). I don't know if it hates my form navigation using only keyboard, or my mouse movements, or what, but it calls me a robot nearly every time.
