From my experience all game capture software/hardware indeed does capture the mouse cursor.
OBS has "Game Capture" as one of the options, capitalized exactly like that. It has a checkbox for "Capture mouse cursor" which defaults to checked.
-
Did they end up getting that right finally? It was one of the things that I always liked about HoN. I stopped playing, but kept watching my friend play, realtime from his perspective. Then he switched to Dota, where you can only watch what he did 5 minutes ago, badly.
-
It's not a video, it's the game client rendering their camera and mouse position and selection.
Bwah?! Mind=Re-blown.
Wait, how does differing resolutions change things?
Why is "Game Capture" capitalized? Is that the name of a product?
Sorry. My Random Capitalization of Things showed through There. From my experience all game capture software/hardware indeed does capture the mouse cursor.
Does it capture the system-provided cursor, or the rendered version the game provides? It has a checkbox for "Capture mouse cursor" which defaults to checked.
Huh, My version must be crap, I had to go into some kind of advanced options to do that, and it only worked with some "legacy" method of capturing frames.
-
The 2-minute delay is intentional to prevent people from "ghosting". You can use Steam broadcasting for a live view.
-
Wait, how does differing resolutions change things?
If someone has a 4:3 or 16:10 or 5:4 resolution, their UI is shaped differently than it is on my 16:9 screen. That means their mouse will be significantly offset from the button they're clicking on.
-
Does it capture the system-provided cursor, or the rendered version the game provides?
I don't... care?
The point is, I look at the resulting video either from my Hauppauge card or FRAPS and the cursor is there.

Dear Microsoft Office 2016 Installer:
#FUCK YOU!
When i launched you to upgrade from 2013 to 2016 none of your applications were pinned to my start bar. You know why? BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT THEM THERE! I now find that each and every application is pinned to my taskbar, which i now have to undo. so fuck YOU
oh, and don't think i'm forgiving you not giving me any option on what apps to install which means i now have to go uninstall skype myself because i don't use it at work. because i hate you for that too.
Sincerely
@accalia, chanelling @lorne_kates

Huh. Makes me wonder what could possibly be done to fix that....
The point is, I look at the resulting video either from my Hauppauge card or FRAPS and the cursor is there.
Don't worry, I've accepted my place as a special snowflake.
-

Yeah, the installer has been getting a lot more brutish with each new iteration. Pretty soon I expect there to no longer be any kind of customization at all...

you mean the fact that i launch setup.exe and all i get is "installing, we'll be done in a few minutes"
then it installs everything. EVERYTHING
-
Try
setup.exe /admin
-
Wow, how angry would you get if someone actually harmed you in some way.

NO_REPRO. I updated 2013 to 2016 the other day and it honoured my pins (or lack thereof).

and skype doesn't even show up in programs and features! it's all bundled together under "Microsoft Office Professional 2016 en"
GAH!

Yeah, the installer has been getting a lot more brutish with each new iteration. Pretty soon I expect there to no longer be any kind of customization at all...
And yet it uses such friendly language… I guess that's how it gets you…

Skype for business wasn't there in 2013 either. Except when you came from an upgrade or you installed lync separately.
-
Try
setup.exe /admin
no change.
still runs same process.
and i still have skype and access cluttering up my already too small hard drive!
and of course hitting change in programs and features allows me to "repair" my install or "online repair" my instalation, neither of which let me uninstall any of the bundled apps!
-
Wow, how angry would you get if someone actually harmed you in some way.
think back to last year. you experienced it first hand if you'll only recall. -_-

Wait, which version are you installing?

Initially read this as

I need more caffeine.

-
I don't recall anything from you.
But RacePropeciaUK's amazing and long dribbling rant about how badges were unfair kind of pushed everything else out of the picture. That was spectacular. I've never seen anybody get that angry over literally nothing before.

someone actually harmed you in some way.
The key bit of the quote you're missing:
actually harmed you in some way.
(Also, that was 2014, not last year.)
BTW, I'm still 100% right on the bots issue. Those spammy fuckers still occupy all the top spots whenever someone posts a traffic log.

ah. right. i forgot you lack any sense of empathy.
my bad!

Liar.
I mean, sure, fuck (most) of the bots. But don't spread lies like that.
-
Pack it in you two please. Or at least take it private.
Ta.
-
WHO THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA?!
Whoever was in charge of ISOs.
There's a tool which customises the "ClickToRun" installer and creates the customised copy on a network share.
I'd wager that most people installing Office 2016 Professional aren't installing it from ISO though, so that possibly impacts the minority anyway.

Only #10. I'll have to hit F5 more often.

Was that "pack it in you two" directed at me? Because if so, immediately joining the debate afterwards is going to make me call you a stupid idiot. Fair warning.
