I call this breakfast:

Just sugar, thank you.

Excellent. that will be $14.95 plus tax and S&H

Status: still annoyed that after all these years and so many patches, Kerbal Space Program still lists parachutes under "Utility" and not "Aerodynamic".
-
but they are utility!
unless you run ferram aerospace they have no aerodynamic properties at all! (even deployed all they do is have cool animation and produce a boatload of drag, no lift or anything else that a real parachute can do)
and besides.... it's fun to watch kerbils go splat.
-
Current status: free bagels!!

but they are utility!
Right but "utility" is vague enough to apply to pretty much everything in the game. Which is why so much unrelated shit is stacked in there.
unless you run ferram aerospace
I don't know what that is.

Having a boatload of drag is having no aerodynamic properties at all?
-
I don't know what that is.
it makes kerbal space program air pretty much like real life, stock KSP does a terrible job of modeling atmospheric flight.
Having a boatload of drag is having no aerodynamic properties at all?
if all you can do is apply drag to a system (friction) in a direction diametrically opposed to the current direction of travel can you do anything to deflect the trajectory of the object you are on?
no?
then pure drag isn't aerodynamic. the trick is that in real life you can apply differential drag, ore even offset vector drag, and that is aerodynamic. what KSP models isn't that.

Stuff like this reminds me of the old guy in Die Hard 2 who filed something under M for Miscellaneous.

Utility? Why are we talking about economics?

@summonbot, cna you find @discoursebot?
-
Yes, Master @accalia, by your command I shall summon @CodingHorrorBot, @DiscourseBot, @LikeBot, and @MottBott.<t1673p2876>

Even our iPad or autocowrecked-fail but not legal, this should be to not correlated in the shenanigans like "light up in there are permissible but cropland for the office run it or span, can't figure out why Google.

Status: phone interview number 2 in about 5 minutes. Just now reading the job description. (This is the one I don't really want as bad, but who knows. Maybe they'll convince me.)
-
I'm pretty sure it's your guys' fault that I have to study everything about binary trees now.
-
you're welcome!
just wait till next week when we discuss b-trees.

No live blogging and funny sound samples? :-)

but today, the pattern of lights is all wrong.

for 25c of coffee and 50c of whipped cream, 2c of cinnamon, 10c of caramel.
$10 for the minimum wage worker, and $2 for the company, the rest pays the bills.

Status: interview went really well, was really casual and fun. We spent the last 10 minutes just bullshitting about how to market retail products on the web, since I worked at an interactive agency in the past.
Damn. I want the other job so much more.
Now it's a race to see who invites me in for an interview first.
-
How desperate are you? Can you handle waiting an extra 2 weeks for a job that would be better for potentially years of employment?
-
Current status: wondering if it's time to quit yet.
Infrastructure group currently has a effort to implement a utility that allows standard users to run specific individual applications with Administrative Rights.
An example of this is a user can run Visual Studio in Administrator mode without have Local Administrative Rights
Over the past month or so we have been monitoring application usage and are starting testing with individual users. We will be deploying this tool across IT in the future. I have discussed this with [software dev manager] and he is ready to expand testing to the rest of the group.
The Process would be as follows:
-
Your standard account would be removed from the Local Administrators group on your machine. You would log off of the machine and then log back in.
-
You would continue your normal workflow and processes. Most required application elevation will be transparent.
-
If you workflow is impacted in anyway contact myself or [coworker] to fix. We have not run across any issues yet.
Call me to discuss further. Or let me know when you would be ready to start. The only action required on your part is to logout and log back in after I make changes.
So only one thing broken, and it's not anything I care about. That went a lot better than expected.
Of course, that's because I delayed by 2 days and let them figure out what they were doing with my frustrated co-workers.

-
Not very, but I don't want to be in the position of having to turn down a job. It's not like you can just say, "hey can you hold your decision for a week or so? I have a much better offer that might materialize..." At the same time, I don't want to just pursue one job at a time.

It does come down to timing, and you have to play your cards right.
The alternative is to interview for both, if the one you don't like offers, take it, and if the one you do like offers later, take it and leave the first job.
Filed under: How to quit a job after 6 days

The problem is one of them is through a contracting agency who has been very good to me and I don't want to piss off. And it's the one I don't want as much.

Status: fuck all y'all, my "work" is done today, I'm gonna watch X-Files and fly to Minmus.

Hmm, I wonder if you could literally inject pure caffeine diluted with some saline into your blood stream (without dying, I mean).
