@JBert Why all the random bolded text?
-
@hungrier Ostensibly to convey more information (such as intonation), in practice to confuse everyone.

What, since when is this no longer The Evil Ideas Thread?!

Do you not know Zippy, and the way emphasis works in such contexts?
-
@dkf Yeah, that's going to be a laugh riot all the way until someone starts debugging your max-leveled cleric.
Remember the "NULL" license plate, and how it made the owner the target of hundreds of other people's fines?
Breaking systems via identifier-abuse is best enjoyed in short, strictly contained operations.

@boomzilla My wife did this once, too.
I went to get a technical reference manual, and everything was suddenly all mixed up.
I asked my wife , and she says she thought it looks nicer this way.
I search long and hard for that manual, and finally find it sandwiched between a Witcher and a Joyce Meyer.Now, I know I read all 3, but I usually go for one category at a time. If I had to reach for technical and devotional literature for the same sitting, something's gone very, very wrong. And it's unlikely I'd have time to do an extended search for either...

Oh dear, yet another C++ project.

More wrong than that. And considering I do embedded software, the possibilities are not limited to the digital domain.
...I used to do medical devices...

@Benjamin-Hall I think the worst part is that it's closer to 88°.

A friend of mine sent this with the caption, "Yes, I did this and no, I don't regret it."

If they'd segregated the skittles, everything would be fine. Totally not something I can eat (milk and peanut allergies say no) except for the skittles.
But fruity and chocolate when you're expecting one or the other....

I like them all. But some of them don't like me. Allergies suck.

My segregation is even easier. Substitute an empty bowl. sigh, diabetes.

@Zecc As long as it's not equilateral. Just close enough so it looks like it. Eviler: close enough so it can be forced in the wrong way.

Which will be harmless for a 100% compliant device, but the manufacturer can save $3 per unit with an obvious alternative solution which is guarantee to fry the computer, the peripheral, or both?

Obviously: Both.

Wouldn't it be more eviler if it was equilateral, but only worked one way?

As long as it still fries the computer the wrong way.

Every time you open any Twitch stream, you're forced to watch 30 second ad first.
Hundreds of millions of schoolchildren all over the world are using Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other online meeting platforms, several times a day, everyday for the last 12 months.
Kind of a missed opportunity.

@Gąska My son is taking a music class in which the instructor plays YouTube clips (via horribly low resolution, laggy shared desktop in whatever online learning software they're using for the class) of various musicians to illustrate the things he's saying about the music. Being YouTube, of course every clip has embedded ads, and the instructor doesn't have ad-blocking software.

@Gąska Nuke it!

@dcon Agreed. space could be better used for an RTL toggle key.

@Gąska
I've had essentially that.Your basic full-sized keyboard. Between the main part and the numeric pad is the Insert/Home/PgUp/Delete/End/PgDn cluster and below that group are the arrow keys.
Except that on this keyboard that cluster was moved up to fit it with a third row of keys; I forget what the other two were but the first one was the power button. I remember that one.
