The iHate iTunes™ Connect™ thread
-
Apple really excels at making me angry and frustrated with iOS apps distribution. Now, after February 26th and getting rid of TestFlight, this process has become even more stupid and frustrating with iTunes Connect™1
For some unknown reason you can only have one email account2 associated with any iTunes Connect™ account. So, if I or any of the many app developing companies wish to access several client accounts, you'll need one email address for each one. GREAT!
Great, now I can access iTunes Connect™ so I can upload an app so the client can play with it. Where is the upload button?
WTF APPLE, WHY THE FUCKING HELL DO I NEED A FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT MAC TO UPLOAD A STUPID FILE?!?
[1] Only by having the iTunes brand you already know it's going to be one big WTF after another. [2] I'm not too sure if it has to be an email account or an Apple developer account which would be far bigger

It's the Apple Walled Garden; play by their rules, or git oot!
-
Time for a Hackintosh. Possibly in a VM? Not sure if that would work, but I guess you only need it for a couple of applications so if graphics or something are screwed it's OK
-
I'll have to bother one of our iOS devs to do this shit.
-
The choice is clear.
Just go. Leave the walled garden alone.
-
Leave the walked garden alone
The walked garden isn't the problem; the problem is the walled garden
-
the problem is the walled garden
In that case, use the old favourite and just throw that shit over the wall. Let someone stuck in there deal with forking it into the rose bed.

WTF APPLE, WHY THE FUCKING HELL DO I NEED A FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT MAC TO UPLOAD A STUPID FILE?!?
Well, you always had to use a Mac to develop apps for Apple.
Technically, you could work around it, but then you would be in violation of the Apple developer license. That was for me the reason to stop wanting to be an iOS developer, and switch to Android instead.

Apple would have huge antitrust issues if Google hadn't taken most of their market share

Bad workman blames their tools ;)

You should read this book: http://www.amazon.com/Your-Next-Door-Neighbor-Dragon-Parsons/dp/0806527595
Specifically, the chapter about the guy who lives in a trailer and believes he's an "otherkin" of an elf.

Voice typing, one of the minimalist keyboards you can get that work with gestures rather than pressing a small area on a qwerty layout, realising you're not really a fox and taking off the fusruit

WTF APPLE, WHY THE FUCKING HELL DO I NEED A FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT MAC TO UPLOAD A STUPID FILE?!?
One thing I will say about Apple, they know how to keep a core set of users engaged with their products. And if you want to sell to those users, through those hoops you must jump...

iUsers are all Tools.
