みんなが@translatorさんと遊びっぱなしになったらしいので、僕も少し遊んでみます。確かに日本語で書いたら、その翻訳の最初の言語は英語しかできないボットですが、こうしてどんな結果になるのかな。
I know the bot selects the intermediate languages by a dice roll, but I guess it can't handle it when the source language is not English, can it? Perhaps I'll get lucky and one of the languages hits.
(Oh, btw, I guess I'm wapanese.)
Edit: I guess the result was quite unexpected.

Given the language list, it was probably the Thai step that had a go.

it's on my TODO list to get translator to autodetect source language. right now it's just hardcoded to the common case of English.

it's on my TODO list to get translator to autodetect source language.
Bayesian classifier? I wonder whether anyone's done such a thing as a library or service already.
-
i was hoping to just implement it by bypassing ackuna completely and go directly to bing so i can pass in auto as a start langiage.
-
I think it's more in the nature of @translator to attempt a guess at the language first. Maybe by seeing if all of the first n words match aa dictionary from each language until you find a match

okay.....
would one of our friendly neighborhood TL4 users kindly split this topic so sockbot doesn't go too far off topic from the OP?
i think this would be a nice destination topic: http://what.thedailywtf.com/t/sockbot-rolling-dice-for-fun-and-not-profit-since-2014/3591
maybe @loopback0?
