/me steps up to claim his award.
Thank you, thank you, I'd just like to thank... <list of people that includes just about every person I've ever encountered> ... for this prestigious honour.

wow my topic closed timer was 8 seconds off?
Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicsouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurse!
-
Mine was 2 seconds off since I hit the post button after the timer had gone away here.
Also, we need to hire Shatner to record that word now
-
Yeah it's a tie between Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan and Skiiiiiiiiiiiiinneeeeeeeeeeeeer.
Skinner fits better because of syllables and vowel sound.Which I guess makes it not a tie anymore.

Well the timestamps are actually in milliseconds in the source (hence the
cut -b1-10
) - but I CBA to format the output to include them. I'll maybe script it if this actually becomes a regular thing.

Mine was a minute off. I hit post when it said 1 second, and there was a whole minute between my post and the last post (before the close post).

Based on these comments, I'd guess their "timer" is to just run
setInterval(updateTimer,1000);
and is off by however much cpu lag/delay happens between when you first load the page and when the countdown gets to the end.
I hope I'm wrong, because that's a very rookie mistake.

More or less rookie than any of the other hundreds of rookie mistakes we've observed?

Much my sentiments, only my counter was off a little more. Damn Discourse. Next time, I shall refresh at 20 seconds!

Yeah, I know now to do a full F5 refresh when I care about whether what's on the screen is correct or not.

How did that work out for you when you were informed that paging was not doing it right?

I'm confuse. Needs nested quote from another topic for more clarity?

Does it? I thought there was enough context there:
You said
I know now to do a full F5 refresh when I care about whether what's on the screen is correct or not [emph mine].
I thought of occasions where someone had said something wrong, and you thinking F5 might change what they said, or at least magically change it on your screen,
so I responded with one such example
How did that work out for you when you were informed that paging was not doing it right?
Explaining the joke really does ruin it,doesn't it?
-
Either I need to tone down my pain medication, or the joke was a real stretch, because it took me a couple of reads through that to figure out what the joke was.
However, I am now understanding of said joke.
-
I think it was a stretch of a joke.
-
Note to self - next JS plugin needs to auto-correct you're doing it wrong to That's how it should work, apparently we screwed it up
:finnadie: :feelsgood: :goberserk: :rage4: :rage3: :rage2: :hurtrealbad: :suspect: :godmode:
I think I missed one between die and berserk.
Found em.

Nope, too cutesy looking. Damn.
-
oh hey, @
-
I will guess that's supposed to translate to something, but I can't figure out how. I see the first and the last one if it's supposed to be Onyx, but can't figure out how the rest should be decyphered.

It's a pictograph or something... Atwood => At Wood => @
-
Yes, I saw you do that before, but I think you used only one kind of tree before. That threw me off.
-
You're right, this translates more like Atwoods. As if there were many of him. A scary thought.
-
Serious q...
Would there be any/much/FOAD interest in this [INB4 stuff] being an irregular thing
-
You're right, this translates more like Atwoods. As if there were many of him. A scary thought.
Not really. A forest or wood1, generally has many trees.

-
If it's not a thing, how else can we go for it?
-
Basically asking if it's something you lot would treat as a (not too frequent) regular game, or -as in that instance - happenstance on an admin whim.
-
Not too frequent game would suit this community's general temperament IMO
-
-
You must think you're so sharp and clefer pulling all these sheety puns, but this staff is getting annoying.
-
I'm sure I can cause you more treble yet.
-
Look, I'm not that temperamental. As annoyances go, this is pretty minor.
I was just asking you to refrain a little. But hey, if it trills you than go ahead and duet. I'm not one to question your motifs. I can always mute the topic.
-
I bow to your superior skills, maestro.
