Just another google observation
-
Anybody else notice www.google.com redirecting to https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl ?
-
https://www.google.com/ doesn't redirect for me. Why are you going to Google over unsecured HTTP?
-
Because in chrome, typing 'google.com' defaults to non-https, and generally speaking I don't care if somebody is snooping on my google searches for
porstack overfmsdn programming references.
-
Why are you typing 'google.com' into your address bar in Chrome if you want to search? Just type your search terms in and push enter.
-
Because, Ben, sometimes I search for things that look like urls, but aren't. And google misinterprets these things as actual websites.
Other times, I just want to see what's on google's homepage.

There's a "google search" option just a few down-arrow taps away...
-
Try putting the weird squiggle that looks like ? in front.
-
It redirects me to https://www.google.es/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=rm2rU87RCKaA8Qf56oCYBA&gws_rd=ssl. God knows what all those parameters are.
Also funny how the company that pushed HTML5 so much (interoperability and openness is the future yadda yadda) only serves their full site to a few whitelisted user agent strings.

You durn furener
Based on .es, I assume spanish of some sort!

So I guess the OP's redirect is
GoogleWebServer ReDirect = SSL

What do they serve to other user-agent strings, and what is an example of a user-agent string that gets that version?
I've never seen Google's front page be anything but a search box and a logo.
-
Well, I see this:
Pretty different.

Not if you press CtrlK first (or maybe pressing the universal help key at the start may do the trick - I'd check but since the last update I've had the Chrome black screen of death and can't try most of the suggestions because I can't even get to the settings page.)
-

I hope they don’t put their “Your browser is too slow! Try Chrome!” ad when the page is loaded with Chrome, for instance...

I thought my naming of computers after AIs from movies and shows is uncreative.
Then, there was newlaptop...

Some changes with the new android version coming out.
