Ugh, the book was better.

It's like reading the first couple of pages repeatedly and never reading the rest.

Especially in the beginning you need to do quite specific things to avoid dying. I seem to remember that doesn't really dial back till you're on the heart of gold. And you need to bring a lot of stuff (not quite everything) or you'll get stuck later.

I know you need the junk mail on the vogon ship.
