📹 Blakeyrat's Videos Thread (Robots in the News et al.)
-
This week, we're playing Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death. Now with Discourse you can watch the entire videos right here in a fucking forum thread isn't that great ladies and gents! I'm sure that fucks up all my analytics too.

It's fine. but let's plays are not really my thing. Also, need more rants.
-
Someone in that broadcast is a possible candidate for a Pedantic Dickweed award, just for the first few seconds of nitpicking over the title.
(Then I had to do some real work.)
-
I think fucking up your analytics will depend on where you do your analytics. If it's your own page, yes, if it's googles youtube play stats, probably not. (The embedded player should address it). If it's some stat collected by youtube on how long the video plays... Probably.

Robots in the News is back
Awesome, I enjoyed those. I'm glad to see that you're doing more :-)
I enjoyed when you did Magica, that game was a clusterfuck!
-
What's the policy on downloading to view later? Is it allowed again or still forbidden. I don't want anyone to get into trouble.
-
Will this one box magically start working tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM PST? IT MIGHT!
Robots in the News - Marlow Briggs - Episode 2 – 18:13
— RobotsInTheNewsEDIT: Oh I guess YouTube changed how scheduled videos work, so you get a bonus early special release bonus.
EDIT EDIT: Oh wait nevermind, I guess Google has me logged in as RITN even though I'm simultaneously not? Not even God Himself can figure out the Google login system.
-
It already works:
-
Video should be live now.

+1 because I only have one Like to give.

Here's episode 4 of Marlow Briggs:
Robots in the News - Marlow Briggs - Episode 4 – 15:15

Ooooh man we recorded some funny shit tonight, next week is gonna ROOOOOOCK
-
Stuff sounds a lot funnier when you're drunk than it does when you're editing it at 10:45 AM on a Sunday.

Robots in the News - Halo Spartan Assault - Episode 1 – 13:20
— RobotsInTheNewsHalo Spartan Assault is on Games with Gold for free, because they'd feel too embarrassed charging for it.
Holy shit does the preview window go nuts when you have a YouTube link and start typing. Jesus guys. YouTube's gonna flag me as a spammer because of this, fucking Atwood.

Robots in the News - Halo Spartan Assault - Episode 2 – 08:22
— RobotsInTheNewsNext episode of Halo Spartan Assault. This one has a SHOCKING TWIST ENDING. (The game crashes; the last two minutes are my Xbox dashboard.)
Friday: Funny drunken hijinks (not Drunk Ops II, but something new we haven't done before)
Next week: Crimson Dragon. We were pretty drunk while recording that, too.
-
The game crashes; the last two minutes are my Xbox dashboard
WHAT? You mean products written for Microsoft OSes can have bugs in them? This changes my entire outlook on life!
-
The game crashes; the last two minutes are my Xbox dashboard.
Video editing is a thing.
-
-
-
Well if you watch the video you will see that we spend those two minutes mocking that crappy shitty game which is boring and sucks. I know video editing exists. I am Steven Spielberg.

1 "Sneezefic" Is A Thing – 15:39
— RobotsInTheNewsToday's video!!!!!
Look Discourse is broken. Let's try this:
1 "Sneezefic" Is A Thing – 15:39
— RobotsInTheNewsNope, guess YouTube doesn't work anymore. Well click anyway.
-
Well if you watch the video
CBA to watch random videos, especially at work, but ...
you will see that we spend those two minutes mocking that crappy shitty game
... if the last two minutes are just your Xbox dashboard, wouldn't I just hear you mocking the game? Also, "crappy shitty" is both redundant and needs a comma to separate the adjectives.
-
-
Spoiler Warning's doing Marlowe Briggs too.
-
Yeah I think that's why Rantis wanted to do it. Not 100% sure though. To be honest I haven't watched much Spoiler Warning since they finished Mass Effect 2.
We haven't revisited it since the first 4 episodes though. I hope we go back and finish it, maybe this weekend.
-
... if the last two minutes are just your Xbox dashboard, wouldn't I just hear you mocking the game?
-
We haven't revisited it
Oh, I didn't even realize that you were part of that. I just thought you were commenting on the fact that some random youtuber had revived his lets play.
-
See that's the problem with all you little baby younglings on this forum, there's all this backstory you don't have.
-
-
I don't see it as a problem that we were unaware of anything that would make you even more arrogant than before.
-
-
PLOT TWIST
No, he's M. Nitrate Shalamaladingdong in disguise...
-
See that's the problem with all you little baby younglings on this forum, there's all this backstory you don't have.
Yes, I must be new here.
-

That's true. We should let them in on the history.
It's no secret that @blakeyrat still plays videogames. He's done that for a long time. He also thinks we should all watch him. He used to think this, too. Once upon a time, he linked his youtube feed in the old CS forum. Some other guy though that was pretty cool, and asked blakey about downloading the videos, and blakey thought that was pretty cool.
Then a few months later (I think in a discussion of youtube ToS), the downloader brought up again that he downloaded blakey's videos for later consumption. @blakeyrat thought that was terribly rude. He didn't care that the downloader violated youtube's stuff so much as that the downloader hadn't asked permission from @blakeyrat.
Eventually, it was pointed out how @blakeyrat previously gave his blessing for this activity, and blakey stopped speaking about getting people to watch him play video games. And so here we are, talking about watching @blakeyrat play video games once again.
-
And more interestingly, @blakeyrat seems to think I and the other 'newbies' should actually care. I don't. It's nice that he is having fun making videos, though.
-
Some other guy though that was pretty cool, and asked blakey about downloading the videos, and blakey thought that was pretty cool.
That bit is a lie.
The entire reason I was upset was because he didn't ask permission before downloading. There's a long annoying thread where I explain this about 47 times and a bunch of dumbshits I hate continue to misunderstand.
-
And the saga continues...
-
Now that you mention it, I remember that.

Search works on CS. If one knew what to search for, one could prove or disprove these claims.
-
The entire reason I was upset was because he didn't ask permission before downloading. There's a long annoying thread where I explain this about 47 times and a bunch of dumbshits I hate continue to misunderstand.
And then I linked to a previous comment where he asked permission and you said it was OK. Why do I have to say this again when I already wrote it?
-
What's life for if not endlessly rehashing pedantic dickweed arguments?
-
You're going to end up on The List again, Boomzilla.
-
You make it sound like a challenge to get on your shitlist.
-
Oh noes!
-
Written and directed by Palme D'Or nominee Klaus Huttmann, THE LIST is a universal and psychological thriller at the edge of our time.
Sounds like my kind of movie. That, and the 4.1/10 review score.

Fine, but why didn't you ask first?
To repeat myself for seemingly the 574th time, I don't care if you download the videos, I do care that you didn't ask me first. What does @blakeyrat really care about? Who knows‽
-
Well obviously that first Blakeyrat was the impostor from meta.discourse. Now shut up already.

I'm in UR discourse downloading yer posts.
