Yes! I call some cheese crack cheese, especially when I was pregnant.

Unfortunately, the huge difference between cheese and crack is that the latter makes you lose weight, while the former does the exact opposite.
Filed under: Every single pound gained that way is totally worth it, though.

Depends, I had gestational diabetes while pregnant so I kept carbs low most of the time. Cheese was an integral part of my diet and had no net gain of weight. Towards the end I was trying to eat more because I thought it was bad to lose weight.

@asdf Have I? Only by accident then.

Not sure you'd like my theory then:
@Yamikuronue said in The Official First World Problems Threadβ’:
@dkf I have a pet theory that cheese is actually disgusting, but it's a highly addictive substance that is fed to children to enslave them to Big Dairy early in life. As someone who was allergic to cheese as a child, only I am free of the addiction and capable of tasting cheese as it truly is: just as bad as it smells.
-
@Yamikuronue So, what are lactose intolerant people? Recruits to your cause?
(I can actually eat cheese, but I'm always careful with the quantity. I never actually studied how much lactose is present in cheese though, so any problems might be nocebo?)
-
@Onyx said in I hate Cilantro thread because why not?:

Depends. A lot of them crave cheese anyway, and eat it despite bad effects, proving my point yet again (why would you eat something that makes you violently ill if you're not physically addicted to it?)
-
@Yamikuronue I'm not addicted, I just like it!
And again, if I don't push it too far it's fine. I can also have a latte or two and I'm fine. But a full glass of milk and it's chestburster alien time. Or it feels like that at least.

And actually 75% of the world's population is lactose intolerant. Those of us who can digest it after about age 2 are the exception.
Taking acidophilious (no spell check I do not mean necrophiliacs ) with dairy helps.
-
@Karla said in I hate Cilantro thread because why not?:

Not only that, but lactose tolerance is actually caused by a mutation from the original human genome.

-
@Karla I was trying to say that it's actually a defect, in a way. You're not supposed to be able to digest lactose once you reach a certain age and don't drink your mother's milk anymore.
-
@Karla Except dark skin, kinky hair, and small penises, if gorillas are anything to judge by

All variety occurs because of defects. Most defects are non-viable. Occasionally we get some good ones.
Pale skin, and straight hair are defects because they were not in the original genome.

Yet it's considered "weird" in large parts of Europe and Americas, since most of those 25% live there. Which is of course because

Eh, that word is a bit hard to use properly in context. Sickle-celled anemia would appear to be an obvious defect and yet it grants people HIV immunity so...yeah. Lactose tolerance is actually a good one overall, so using the word "defect" is kinda off, in general sense of the term anyway.

Wait, I mixed it up with something then... there is one for HIV though, isn't there? Might not be anemia but I seem to recall that some form of mutation was found somewhere...

Well it isn't like I've studied much about it in 20 years. Though I do have some genetic disorders that run in my family. One that resulted in death of newborns which I am a carrier for but luckily my husband wasn't.

Coconut oil is also naturally somewhere between 4 and 10 SPF, so it can help you there too.

From what I've heard, the cancer risk is mostly just if you get sunburned. Gradually easing yourself into a tan is your best bet against it.

No, because Ethnicity is separate from Race. You are one or more races and Hispanic or not.
Right, but you asked what the difference between w/h and b/h was. Since there's an /h there in both places, well, that only leaves the w and b as being different. :p

Shirataki (η½ζ»?, often written with the hiragana γγγγ) are thin, translucent, gelatinous traditional Japanese noodles made from the konjac yam (devil's tongue yam or elephant yam).
I've had those in a couple of Dallas-area Korean restaurants (PM for names/locations). They have a very nice texture. I didn't know they were low-carb.

Jin is a great Korean BBQ place if you find yourself in Plano. Next to the H Mart on K Avenue.

I feel like I should go on the record. I think cilantro has an odd flavor but I like it. That is all.
