@boomzilla just start time, or does this also work with the other stuff you can put in YouTube URL params?
You might as well do them all at once instead of playing whack-a-mole.

What are the other things? This is just the start time.

I'll refrain from the "let me google that for you" link.
What's that link?

Can I voice my concern about the autoplay parameter? Because autoplay has no place in a forum post!
Filed Under: Next thing we know people autplay ALL of the Robots in the News videos!

Can we fix the whole "title doesn't show until you hit play" thing?
-
@loopback0 Looking at the code, it seems the display of the title is controlled by a setting called
display_title
@boomzilla, @ben_lubar, is that something you can set?

Haha! Jokes on you! It's already on there! But...the way it's implemented currently, the player doesn't appear until you click the play button, so from the user's perspective, it's not autoplay on the page.
That said, I don't think most of those would be useful. I certainly don't want people doing things like removing the controls. Can you imagine the response around here when someone did that?

Yes, but not easily. Right now, it's set up to do a Youtube API call on the client after the page loads. And then it replaces a basic iframe with the graphic and the button, etc, etc. Well, firstly, there's no way right now to communicate the API key to the client in order to complete that call. But that seems...wrong. Because then we're exposing the key to the world.
The thing needs to be rewritten to do all that stuff on the server side (and use an LRU cache to remember calls, as discussed elsewhere...). I've had a couple of aborted attempts at that, but my node skillz are improving and my knowledge of nodebb is, too, so maybe it'll actually happen some day.

@boomzilla Do what you want. I was just providing the list that you were too lazy to spend half a second Googling for.

I know, thanks. It was definitely easier than looking for myself. Which of those do you think a forum poster should have access to?
-
@boomzilla I think you should default annotations to off ("iv_load_policy"), because fuck those.
Uh. You can strip a lot of these probably.
I'd disable "fs", since it doesn't work with NodeBB anyway-- if it'll fuck up NodeBB, you might as well not advertise the feature.
Keep "start", "end", "loop" obvs. Might want to turn on "modestbranding", although since you replace the video with an image that might be moot.
I dunno. Make your own choices.

My default choice is none of them, since they all start at -100. Also, adding more means that some more serious changes need to be done with the way stuff is handled, so maybe it's more like -200.

Agreed. Don't even make it optional, just off. Fuck those.

Yes, yes, and ... I'm not even sure about loop.

How's that going to help fat-butt find LMGTFY?

@PleegWat It's like some kind of Möbius strip of laziness.
