@flabdablet yes, yes it is.
I just had to build a registration system for a youth summer camp where people download an auto generated form, sign it, and upload it.
Because if we did electronic signatures, the kids could totally fake their parents' signature!!!
(As if they couldn't already. On paper)You know, over the years, it has dawned on my that the biggest problem in our industry ... is that none of us seem to really want to go into management. So the idiots get put there instead, and end up calling the shots. Some of us need to bite the bullet and let ourselves be put into management. For the greater good. I nominate @blakeyrat to lead the way :D

@Vaire I'll do any job if you pay enough.

See, I will NOT. That is why you must lead us. Lead us ... to GLORY! >_</*

@fbmac Oh, believe me, I am right there with you. I have told the various companies I work for, that the day they start the process to make me a manager, is the day I start sending out my resume. DO NOT WANT!
But, SOME of us need to bite the bullet, and be the change we wish to see in the world. @blakeyrat is our last, best hope. He has to help us hold the line and push the darkness back. We can't let this continue.

When I'm interviewing with a company, I always ask about the advancement track. I make it clear in the interview that I am not interested in management. Thankfully, all the companies I've talked with have developer tracks now. Unlike a previous company where I maxed out pay because they expected people to move into management. Took them a year before new salary bands were introduced...

PLEASE don't tell me that shit is still going on?
Hey look! The same crowd has just re-invented wish-it-was two-factor authentication!
Fucking banks.
-
@flabdablet to be fair, at least they give you the option of doing it correctly.
-
@ben_lubar It's likely they try to push you to the security question though because SMSes cost actual money. Or maybe they don't send a code but just the answer to your security question.
With banks you can expect anything.

Or they could just request you to use the Authenticator App (available on iOS, Android and WinPhone) to do the two factor authentication without extra cost.

@JBert I won't be doing the SMS thing, because (a) my KeePass-generated password is quite secure enough TYVM and (b) about 80% of my workplace has no radio coverage from my mobile phone provider.
It's quite bad enough needing to find one bar of coverage every time I log into our Apple Device Enrolment (should be Enragement) Program account without needing to do the same for my broker.
With any luck this bullshit will end up optional anyway.
