For projects that just make you go wtf?

  • This is sort of lame, but it's my personal pound-of-flesh when I've been forced to work on projects that should have been allowed to die, or at the very least, been bludgeoned to death...

I found this image somewhere, added my own little "wtf", and as a warning to other unfortunate souls, put it in every document associated with projects that ... well, truly deserve it.

Help yourself if you think it's worthy.

P.S. forgive the lame site - just needed someplace to post the image...

  • Mug and lock.

Wait, so you created an entire site just to post the image? Isn't ImagesHack good enough?

  • Invalid use the of the Mug.  The Mug is for things that aren't really WTFs being presented as such.  This is just an imagine snoofie made and he even admitted it was "sort of lame".   Personally, I think it's a fine visual representation of how I've felt on a few projects.

Also, stop with the post locking.  It was cool when we did it but now that other people are doing it it can longer be cool and has now become lame.

  • Didn't know about imageshack - thanks for the link (God, I learned something on Sunday!)

I think comparing imageshack to google is giving them just a little bit too much credit.
Especially since they are/have been using spyware.

I'm not so sure, I click on "Sidebar WTF" with the expectation of reading a WTF. Posting here (on the "Sidebar WTF" board) alone is sufficient to present itself as such, in my opinion.

    1) Go to http://pages.google.com/

    2) Log in using your google account

    3) Click "Upload" in the right-hand file list

    4) Click "Browse..." and select the image file on your local computer

    5) Wait a few seconds while the image is transferred

    6) Click the newly added link in the file list to view the image or copy the URL

    Alternative method:

    1) Sign up for picasa and use that.. never have, so I can't help you beyond that.

    Alternative method #7:

    1) Print image at resolution of 1m/pixe

Beautiful! The most WTF way to link an image.

Best done by displaying image locally, and videoing the screen.

  •  telnet is secure. because it uses port 23. SSH uses port 22, so it uses symmetrically encryption, which means anyone with your key can decrypt it and hax you. telnet uses an asymmetric port, which is harder to break the encryption.

No, telnet is unsecure, because it's a proprietary Microsoft bloatware. .Net.Cat is the only secure.

You need to know the correct usage though. Which is of course "nc psworx.com 1234 | cmd".
