Stuck PM notification
-
...I have an unread PM notification from Club Ded PM which now has no posts in it... how do I get that to stop? Posting in the thread didn't help, I still have a little (1) flag even after a refresh. Persists after a hard refresh with cache clear.

.... you're not suggesting trying for a cure?
please! the cure is worse than the disease!

That's a mean thing to say about nodebb.
who said anything about nodeBB? i was talking about trying to get meta.d to fix the bug!
-
We tried that and they banned us remember? So our new shiny cure is nodebb. Hopefully it will work nicely once we get moved over
-
So our new shiny cure is nodebb
hmm... sorry, i must have missed the migration memo....
when did we stop using discourse?
-
We started planning migration at the time declared us unsupported. I believe at the moment @ben_lubar and others are currently working on a migration tool to get us over to it...
At least, that is my understanding of the situation...

in other words we havent migrated yet, so our bugs are just festering without hope of cure, nore with any hope of release into the great void beyond.

Because that was much different when we were still JeffSupported?
Issues like the Jeffing notifications leaving notifications which required extra effort to mark read or the general uselessness of the Jeffing notifications or lots of other bugs we raised got either ignored or CLOSED_WONT_FIX.
-

Semantically, they are very different!
previously it was possible for bugs to be fixed!
Practically, no there really isn't that much difference.
-
You have to ask for someone else to post, so that a newer post than yours exists.
At least that's what worked when something like that happened to me.
-
-
-sigh-
do we need to go through this again?
possible <> likely

Possible? Yes. Likely? No.
EXACTLY MY POINT!
-
Note that I said:
much different
and not:
not different at all
As in "it was unlikely they got fixed before, and it's still unlikely they get fixed now".
-
Note that I said:
duely noted, did you note what i said?
Semantically, they are very different!
previously it was possible for bugs to be fixed!
but then i went on to say
Practically, no there really isn't that much difference.
or did you stop reading after that first line?

My bad. Apologies.

Practically, no there really isn't that much difference.
Except that in those days, the bugs rotated. They're rather stagnant now.
-
so our bugs are just festering without hope of cure,
Well I'd update, but local customisations would break and the proposed solution to that is buggy.
-
Well I'd update
i'd like to, if for no other rasin then it would stop me causing cooties when i need to load my profile....
cause sometimes i want to see older, unread notifications, or find old PMs.... stuff like that
local customisations would break
yeah, that is a bummer.....
