Merry $FESTIVAL!

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral celebration of the northern hemisphere winter solstice holiday practised with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious / secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2016, but not without due respect for the calendar of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that Britain is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms:
This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/him or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. The wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher

There's only one winter festival I'm celebrating this year!
The 112th Occasion of The Celebration of Curses A festival commemorating the killing of the human Shal Clashpolish by the goblin Aslot Dashscorpion in The Plain of Slaughters in the late winter of 137 occurred in the midwinter of 249. In the midwinter of 249, The Eerie Wickedness held a procession in Sneerdemon as part of The Celebration of Curses. It started at The Bastion of Knights and returned there after following its route. The event featured banners, criers in front, incense burning and candles. In the midwinter of 249, The Eerie Wickedness held a ceremony in Sneerdemon as part of The Celebration of Curses. The event featured banners, incense burning, costumes, candles and images.

I tend to avoid the problem of deciding between "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holidays" by just hating everybody.
-
My friends and I actually do Festivus. The aluminum pole, dinner, airing of grievances, feats of strength, etc.
The airing of grievances got a little bit real last night when someone chose to get butthurt about our warnings that he's about to marry the worst human being any of us have ever met.
-
-
aluminum pole,
Strippers make everything better.
Merry Christmas you hive of scum and villianily!
-
he's about to marry the worst human being any of us have ever met.
I didn't know Donald Trump was gay.
-
I'm just happy I don't have to work these in whatever these holidays are
-
And I hope you had a good solstice too.
-
Never met Trump. I do live alarmingly near to this chucklefuck, however:
-
-
Oh, sorry, "Chucklefuck" isn't mean enough.
"Theofascist piece of human garbage"? Is that better?
-
This guy has a medical degree* and no idea how scientific consensus works.
* do we actually have proof he has a medical degree, or is that one of the things he made up?
-
He definitely worked at Hopkins and definitely helped to revive a procedure in which an entire hemisphere of the human brain is removed.
I think they may have tried an experimental variation where they remove both halves and he was the test patient.
-
My friends and I actually do Festivus.
I think I'll start next year. Beats calling it "Christmas Eve Eve".
Also if you Google Festivus it puts a Festivus pole down the side of the search results
-
Let the Feats of Strength commence!
-
-
Christmas Whateve
-
He is sane compared to the options we have down here
-
This guy has a medical degree* and no idea how scientific consensus works.
So, there is a thing like scientific consensus? calling @boomzilla for more climate change discussing
-
There's a difference between @boomzilla saying "there is no scientific consensus on climate change" and @BenCarson saying "I disagree with the scientific consensus because it confuses me and therefore it is WRONG".
-
Eh...what? Why are you guys summoning me with this inanity on Christmas?
-
So who else went to see Star Wars on movies and chinese food day?
-
Not I.
I'll probably see it sometime next week at a dine and recline place, whether or not I dine there or not.
-
E_DO_YOUR_JORB ;)
<Body is can we please turn this warning off?

Wow. Three huge paragraphs in order to say absolutely nothing but make you think it is a holiday greeting of some kind.
I tend to avoid the problem of deciding between "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holidays" by just hating everybody.
Just remember, you're not a bigot if you don't pretend to like the people you hate. And you're not a racist/sexist/whateverist if you hate everybody equally. I suppose you would still be prejudiced, but that just means you need to take the time to find a valid reason to hate each person you run across.

I hate you because you're breathing air that I could be breathing.Valid enough?
-

What?!? The KKK doesn't pretend to like black people, and you can't get much more bigoted than that. Pretending to like someone you hate makes you a hypocrite, but pretense is not a requirement for being a bigot.

Go review the origin of that word. Although today it is usually used as a synonym for anyone who expresses any form of intolerance, that is a modern usage. When I was growing up (in the 70s in and around New York) it was used specifically to refer to intolerance combined with hypocrisy. A person who hates a particular race is a racist, but he's not also a bigot unless he tries to hide his racism from the public.
It's also worth noting that older definitions refer specifically to religious intolerance, and not to all kinds of intolerance in general.
-

Yes, well, I live in modern times. From your own link, the use of bigot to mean hypocrite was obsolete 100 years ago. I don't know about New York 40 years ago, but it hasn't been used to mean hypocritical intolerance anywhere I've lived while I've lived there.
