C# is going to be even more awesome

You apparently don't know what the word "logical" means.
OH, I SEE THE PROBLEM!
Microsoft calls a CPU socket a "logical CPU", whereas all normal people call a logical CPU a logical CPU.
-
I suppose you're also angry that Microsoft Word can handle more than one word?
+1
LOL...that's ironic.
-
Because there's 1 processor.
And what part of "GOMAXPROCS" suggests it's about processors? FWIW, procedures, processes and procrastination are all more likely. "MAX" suggests maximum amount of something that changes over time and is usually lower than the number here. And amount of physical processors inside computer rarely changes in runtime.

My assertion: "it's a shitty name!"
Your counter: "here's a list of several other ways the name is shitty!"
Brilliant.

Ever hear of Docker? This server is running on it. It's written in Go.
Dropbox, CloudFlare, SoundCloud, and of course, Google, use it too.
Thanks. To be clear, I honestly want to know.
Because I see people flouting their favorite esoteric language, and while those are good and they expose flaws and the big languages pick up on those features and incorporate them, I don't feel comfortable dedicating time to a language that doesn't have real, practical, business use.
It's like the green party. Thanks for showing us where we both screwed up, now I'm going to take your policies. This is a good thing, because those problems wouldn't have gotten attention otherwise. But we both know, the green party is never getting the Whitehouse.
But without some examples of actual business use, because of all the hype for everyone's pet language, I cannot tell which language would be worth my time for building my career. I mean, if I want a fun pet language, I'll just use LISP. If I want to hurt myself, I'll use R. I don't need a hipster language.
So, any information on how these languages are used, in an actual business context, is extremely useful.
So, thank you for honestly answering.

Wow, that's terrible Ben.
-
Also,
x <= y
is valid for integer x and y, butx >= y
is a syntax error.
-
Go might be a good, even great, language, but I don't care.
What limited research I have undertaken would indicate that Go is an excercise in BDSM masquerading as a programming language, so yeah, no, I don't really care either.
-
Well, that explains Ben's fascination with it.
Filed under: DF, lojban, BIT, GO — it all makes sense now.

My assertion: "it's a shitty name!"
For you.Your counter: "here's a list of several other ways the name is shitty!"
Never said anything like that.

(kinda) NON-NULLABLE REFERENCES!!!
This would be the most fantastic thing ever. I implemented a null object pattern once and the amount of shit it forced out was ungodly.TUPLE SYNTAX
OH God YES PLEASE! The amount of classes that I've created for this is stupid.

if i may be allowed a quick meme edit and misattribution:

This post is deleted!
-
You have waited almost a month... to say nothing.
BTW anyone knows what happens when I reply to soon-to-be-non-existent message?
-
Why did you necro this topic?
-
To see what happens if I reply to a post that is not there. Apparently, it still shows that I replied to you, and if I unfold the reply chain, it shows every post in chain except the one I replied to. If not for the indication that I replied to @fbmac, one could think I replied to @blakeyrat.
Might the code for deleted messages overlap with the code for whispers? Also, I'm pretty sure the post isn't actually deleted and can be restored at any time... except that Discourse probably doesn't have such function and would crash horribly if forced to.

Discourse [...] would crash horribly
Posted one hour ago and still no comment on this?
Discourse probably doesn't have such function
Maybe it does. Five of them, actually. Each one discoworking differently.

@boomzilla, mind showing us a screenshot of the button that's used for that?
-
The little swirly arrow is the restore / undelete button:
Deleted posts are initially hidden from me like when you filter something (so not totally hidden, but there's a small grey bar instead of a post). After expanding that I see something like the red thing in the screenshot. Like everything else, it's subject to cooties, but otherwise seems to work well enough.
-
Is there a button to get rid of it for good there on the wrench? If you do that, will Discourse remember who Gaska replied to?
-
Is there a button to get rid of it for good there on the wrench?
No. It's in a state right now such that only mods and admins can see it. That's as good as it gets. We can also do the same to edit history, so even if your edit history is open, only mods / admins can see something that one of us has hidden. We typically do that for PII leaks.

Cheeses Crackers, those grey buttons on red are nearly invisible.
