So it's a keyboard like no other after all. It has a new emoji symbol on it!

Incidently, if anyone knows how to make my Logitech K400r1 use regular function keys instead of invoking special commands (without having to hold down Fn), I'd be much obliged.
There seems to be a solution involving installing their crapware (which I'll probably have to do. 81 MB, ugh!), but if there was another way I'd like to hear it.
Remapping keys won't work because what the keyboard is doing is sending key combos. For example, when I press it sends Win+D, when I press it sends Win+I, etc.
I don't want to lose these shortcuts.1Should have gone with the K400, which doesn't suffer from this. A lesson is learned, but I CBA to change keyboards again.

Did you check for a bios setting?
-
It's an external keyboard.
Oh, I was looking at the wrong software. SetPoint is 81MB, but the Unifying Software is only 4MB.
Edit: scratch that, I do need to install SetPoint. Blargh!

If it wasn't for the Fn options on the arrow keys, I'd just tape the damn key down...
-
Yeah... Print Scr too.

The Surface Pro keyboard has the same problem but you can switch it around through Fn+CapsLock</kdb>

8h and no likes?

Oh sorry, you said Logitech, not Microsoft...

Where is the cup holder?

Jeff banned it, too.

Yes, but "nobody uses F1...F12 except nerds".
It's not like there are used in games or anything.
Other than Quick Save and Quick Load (usually F6 and F9), I've never seen a function key used in a game. And I play a lot of games.

WoW uses them--including various meta-versions (with shift, alt, etc). The default bindings are to semi-obscure features, though: I knew there were some but I had to look at the keybindings screen because I didn't actually know any of them..
-
I'm playing BioShock, which uses them for plasmid selection (though frankly I prefer the shift menu).
-
Bioshock is designed to be played with controllers.
-
Runescape uses them. Granted, it's nothing that can't be accessed through the GUI, and I think the keybindings can be changed.
