Ajax examples

Why is it that every single demo of an AJAX library has a drag-and-drop shop where you can drag the products into a cart area? What sort of online store actually uses this? What sort of customer wants to shop online this way?! Why do they all have the same example?!

And more importantly, how does this qualify as a WTF?
Cue the mug...

He's right. No one would ever really want to use such an interface. It's definitely a WTF

Do we have to mug every thread?

http://www.panic.com/goods/ has drag-and-drop, what do I win?

Actually, he is referring to AJAX demos. It is not a WTF to include a demo of something someone may or may not find useful.
It is an interesting use of the technology, and I am sure they were hoping open minded people would take the simple concept and run with it in new directions.
Obviously you are not one of those people.

Only the ones that suck. Didn't you read the mug?
Qualification: The thread must suck.
Check.

And it fails awfully there :D. The 2 first items i drop in cart get counted in the total amount but not displayed :D
I can also drag and drop sold out items. They cost nothing but are present in cart :D
And, it seems, it can check them out (went to the credit card form for 0$ :D)
