I am disappoint.
-
Alright then, I have burnsified my meta.d. Which prompted this:
No fucking shit it's not square...
-
-
post that as a bug report on meta.d!
:-D
-
meh. cba...
-
oh that is too damn funny
-
hell, i'll post it...
there you are.
-
Which notifies me that this topic
https://meta.discourse.org/t/uploaded-avatar-cropping/16136
is similar. Yet so very very different.
-
ok it looks kinda funny that I posted your avatar upload and then you liked the post, so now it shows your avatar liking my post about uploading your avatar
-
I relied to your bug report as well <xyz>:D
-
Now I might just make an entire square avatar that's outside the circle?
And then we could all use different but similarly formatted avatars.
-
yesssss..... i like where this is going.....
-
my god, @codingwhorror was actually accepting of the bug report on their crummy avatar resize warning. I guess he had to be, since his unilateral decision is the reason they have the stupid round avatars in the first place.
I was still expecting a You're Doing It Wrong™, CLOSED_WONT_FIX
-
Nah, this is awesome bikeshedding that can substitute for actually improving stuff.
-
Should we be expecting Jeff to tell people to get out of his bikeshed soon?

I am on board with this circle thing. How come the reply buttons and all the other duckwhores buttons are so square? It's just not very pleasing to my eyes, I need more rounded buttons.
And posts. Why are the posts so blocky?
ROUND ALL OF THE THINGS.
Why stop there? Make round web browsers which run on computers with round displays.
-
Why stop there?
I clearly did not stop:

For some reason, this line of conversation made me think up
Infiniroll™
and now I can't not think about it.

Like that Motorola smartwatch? I forget exactly what it's called…

That's the one!

well they did for me..... at least in hangouts which TBH is 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of my interaction with G+
-
Yeah that's a hangouts thing
-
And in the topbar (also on YouTube's topbar). And on the profile pages.
Not sure about anywhere else; 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of my Google usage is searching for stuff

wtf clicking to see raw on your post just causes my browser to display a blank post servercooties

Are you going this far?
FARTHER:
-
Actually... I'm kind of liking this round theme.
Same problem as with the avatars though... everything in the corners is invisible
-
WTF
-
How 'bout now?
-
It's like someone went mad with a Spirograph…
-
That was from this:
* { border-radius:100px;border:1px solid black; }
11: which translated from CSS to English literally means: ROUND ALL OF THE THINGS
-
Seriously though, all of Duckwhores's buttons look better with a 100px border radius.
-
-
@darkmatter is TRWTF
-
Book of Faces does the same for Messenger despite normally using square avatars.
I don't get the whole round avatar thing. Seems like some cool change for the sake of change thing.
-
Looks like someone recreated Dischorse in HyperCard. Badly.
-
-
Should I file a bug report to meta.d that rounding all of the things makes certain UI elements not show up?
-
I tried also padding all of the things... but that went awry fast.
-
And for when it turns up here on the next Discoupdate™
cc @PJH, can we apply this style change to the WTDWTF styles so we lose the round avatars?

Please!
-
Try this then:
.btn, button, .nav-pills > li > * { border-radius:100px; } .topic-map .btn { border-radius: 0; }
Doesn't work for the topic progress indicator when you're at the top of the thread, would need to do fancy clipping magic I think
-
Hmm...
-
We caught the round avatars?!
-
I like this guy's approach on meta.d
-
Seems it's actually:
img.avatar { border-radius: 0px; }
Trust Jeff to get reversing his own change wrong.
