Closed Poll: "Likes" Thread - Since it's been asked (again)...

I know how to spell "what" for one thing.
/me fires up the blow torch...

"One Post" suggested/mentioned merely because that's the only category (at the moment) that has the 'No auto-Badges' flag set on it.
How about a new "Social engineering" category that has auto badges switched off?
Wouldn't moving to one post auto lock it? We may as well still allow people to post and have fun in there. It'll be the thing of legends when we get it all the way up to NaN posts.

Same problem. Criteria are applied to where the post was created, not where it is

Due to the simplicity of how DC works, no. Likes achieved towards awarding badges will be removed. Moving the topic there will not result in it acquiring the Close ASAP property.

Clarification... likes awarded will be ignored (not removed) , resulting in badges no longer being valid (thus removed) ...
Or that's my understanding of this. If I've got this wrong I'll make sure @Sam 's noose is tighter than mine when we're both on the gibbet.
TODO: find the blog post I was thinking of when durnkingly tyopign tihs.

It looks like you might want to hold off on any admin actions for a few hours.

Given what I'm already being accused of WRT topic 1000..
Tyops in that post were deliberate. I am, however in an abode where admin actions may happen.
Finding something better than this S3 I'm typing this message on however...

Soooo. What's the verdict?
-
Testing in production is a thing, remember.
But it only really counts if you're also bugtracking on the same system.

That depends how you classify tracking. If you mean having a sort of triage centre for discussion about bugs, then no, it's not even remotely a WTF for a forum system to use it for discussion. But for actual tracking of bugs, there really is no excuse to avoid proper tracking systems unless you mash up said forum system with all the extra data fields for things like severity.
Discourse fails on both counts, IMO.

Why is everyone talking as if five days haven't elapsed since the previous post in this discussion?
-
Fuck! Is it Monday already?

That's how we roll.

Soooo. What's the verdict?
Indifference it appears. Followed by burn it with fire:
I won't be doing anything with it at the moment.

Why is CLOSED POLL not CLOSED TOPIC?

oh hell, as leader i can re-open polls too....? oops.
better put that back.

Why is CLOSED POLL not CLOSED TOPIC?
Makes sense, actually. You might want to close the poll but keep discussing the outcome. Unless you're a proponent of splitting topics left and right?
-
Why is there CLOSED POLL but not OPENED POLL?

Why is there CLOSED POLL but not OPENED POLL?
Because... Because... Because! Stop being mean!

Because, as leader, you can change topic titles.
Guess what the only criteria is as to whether a poll is open or closed?

You what? No, seriously, that's fucked beyond all recognition.

In fairness, at least it prevents inconsistency.

Yes, but then again so is most of the internal logic in Discourse.

I was torn between overstating the adjectives compared to the standard set or understating them...
Thought understating them would reduce the backend maintenance required to keep them closer to their intended meaning. (ie reduce peoples creativity wrt trying to get them)

It's fitting that on a WTF site the pinnacle of achievement would be a reasonable post.
