See, I was unaware of that. Never touched a Nexus.

Did some testing over the weekend using the massive likes thread. Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to make a fancy video for you. Anyway, I compared load times between my desktop (3.5GHz 6 core, 4GB RAM, Windows 7, Chrome 35) and my brand new Smasung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 (1.2GHz 4 core, 1.5GB RAM, Android 4.4.2, latest Chrome). Amazingly, Load times on that topic were the same. Admittedly, due to different interfaces, the scrolling speeds were vastly different, so I couldn't really test the perf on infini-scroll. I also tested a few small topics, but loads times were small enough that I couldn't really do a good comparison.
-
Load times on that topic were the same (between desktop and android tablet)
This is.. unlikely. (Nexus 4 vs iPhone 5, September 2013)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd7i2NeZARU
What I like to test is, using a long topic (40+ replies) enter it at the bottom. The clock starts when you click or tap, then time how long it takes to..
- see the "loading.." indicator
- see topic fully visibly loaded
For the latter, shifting due to image loads don't count -- try to pick a topic that is mostly text. It's a long story, but images have to be resized to viewport on mobile which means the vertical heights can't be precalculated like they are on desktop with a fixed size.
You can also compare the times for short topics (1-10 posts) and you'll note they are dramatically faster almost directly proportional to how many posts are in the topic -- up to the max stream chunk size.

You keep bringing up that video of the Nexus. What you don't seem to get is that (and I'll add emphasis for clarity): not all Android devices are the same. My Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 will probably not perform the same as your Nexus. Also, here are some questions for you:
- I see that the iPhone in your video is on AT&T. What network was the Nexus on?
- Were those phones downloading using WiFi or cellular data?
- If downloading over cell and on different networks, can you guarantee that the networks provide the same speeds? How about relative network congestion?
Apparently you are already set in your belief that it is all Androids fault. And no amount of evidence from other users will change your opinion, so until you are willing to accept that other people might actually have useful information, go play with your pink dildo (you don't deserve a purple one).

In case you forgot, I've got a 10 inch tablet that defaults to desktop view, so this is not an issue.

Why should a little thing like facts in context get in the way of someone who knows they're Right?
-
Oh, oh, let me try!
Ummm, well, Jeff said they want to try to fix the problem. If he's denying facts, or refusing to accept them, it will make it harder to identify the actual problem. In the end, he could waste precious development time "fixing" phantom issues, while producing no real benefit. Also, said fixes could introduce new problems that further obscure the real, original problem.
Ooops, I'm letting my logic show, aren't I?
-
Ummm, well, Jeff said they wan't to try to fix the problem.
So does he want to fix it, or he won't fix it?
Or somehow both at the same time?!
-

Or somehow both at the same time?!Based on the discussion, I think it's both.

Cognitive dissonance is a barrier to reading.

Reading is a place in England. Deal with that!

I try not to. I have actually been there.

Nah, it's just a bit of a shitehole.

Nah, it's just a bit of a shitehole.
My cousin is saying that "Slough" is a shitehole. Another cousin is saying "barking" is a shitehole. Is England full of such holes?
-
Slough is next to Reading, so yes. Barking, again, near Reading, so yes.
As for England, yes it has some terrible places but the countryside in between is nice enough.

also what is up with all these "sexes"? Middlesex, Essex, Sussex.
is this Victorian time under the belly rage sprouting up?

They're all originally from Saxon times, meaning Middle Saxons, East Saxons and South Saxons respectively. There used to be a Wessex, meaning West Saxons but that's long since been disbanded.

Thank you for beef and succinct explanation.

Logic? That is a rather strange nickname for you man parts.

I don't have man parts. Only dragon parts. Now if only there were a nice dragoness to enjoy those dragon parts ...

Did you ate the @presidentsdaughter ?
-
@presidentsdaughter isn't a dragon, foo'.
-
Okaayyy.... I've never been here... I saw nothing... moving on
-
Why would I eat her? She is entertaining.

Thank you for beef
Doesn't that violate some law in India? Or is that just a religious belief that cows are sacred?
-
Thank you for beef
It's finally lunchtime. I'm eating roast beef, with baked potato and corn.
-
No waffles then?
-
No waffles then?
No, I already had my lunch packed by the time I knew about the waffle discussion.

I try not to. I have actually been there.
IIRC, some years ago some radio/tv show held a vote as to what the most boring town in Britain would be. I think Campeltown in Scotland won.Filed under: can't think why

Most people don't eat beef or pork. there is no law, but Hindu temple condemn selling of beef, but it is not that it is not allowed.
Meat of preference is Chicken / Goat / Fish. I love chicken. I don't like goat unless you are making special mutton biryani. That is mouth watering delight to be had in Hyderabadi or Dum style of food.
Fish make me very sick, so I stopped eating it, except for crab and prawns which is sea-food, but not fish.
-

Then hopefully in due time we would see plenty of young dragons. You said their meat would be much more tender than that of older dragons...

Probably still too tough for a simple seagull to get at on his own.
-
Bah. Just cook 'em long enough. Just like eggs.

It seems to me that might be a bit difficult for you. My general understanding of dragons is that they are adapted for rather brief cooking with intense heat, which does not exactly lead to making tough meat tender.
-
Ok, perhaps put the dead baby dragons under a saddle to ride the meat soft?
Filed under: dragon, the Mongol way

I was trying to suggest that @faoileag is a cannibal. Plus, who says that we dragons can't regulate our temperature?

This love/hate between @the_dragon and @faoileag will end up like this:

Abomination!
And to think, I was starting to consider releasing you. So much for that idea!

Oooh, so close! Better luck next time, @presidentsdaughter!
-

Well, if the dragon was near a forest, it could probably cook meat longer.
It could cook quite a lot more meat at once, too.
Especially if the forest had animals in it.
Or campers.
-
Quite a good looking creature. Must have inherited most of my genes then and not @the_dragon's.
-
There's one thing I don't get: why are parts of it transparent (front left leg, portions of the tail, rear legs)? It appears to have no skeletal structure. Probably inherits that from @faoileag, too.

The left leg only appears to be transparent, that line is the shadow of the bulging muscle.
The tail definitely comes from @the_dragon's gene pool, so better ask him.
The rear legs? *What rear legs? *
-
So you claim that the places where the background shows through (marked below for @faoileag's poor eyes) are "muscle shadows"?
Not to mention, any attempt at mixing a dragon and a seagull would crush the seagull.
-
Oh. Those lines. Erm... it was the cat! The cat ate my glasses!
