Google "apps"
-
Like many technology companies, Google has recently been turning everything into "apps". It can get a bit confusing because they seem to intentionally make no distinction between "Chrome apps" and "Drive apps", and sometimes even "Android apps".
This leads to things like having an add-on "store" for Google Docs, which is a Chrome app and an Android app and a Drive app, which is in itself a Chrome app and an Android app too!
And sometimes, to scary dialogs like this:

Forget google, even salesforce is having many apps.

Wow, my app is still on there, with only one fake review.

So you can run the Google Docs store app in Chrome as a Chrome App which runs as an App on my android device, or, alternatively, run the Google Docs store app in Firefox as a web app which runs as an app on Firefox OS?
What does the word "app" even mean?

In the olden days, we used to use the word "app" as a shorthand for application because we were
lazy bastardsprolonging the lives of our keyboards. These days it seems everything's an app. Full blown application? It's an app. Browser plugin? It's an app. A neutered browser that can display only one website? It's an app. Hell, I think @Nagesh is currently writing some Java apps for a web app. Oh, and I'm most likely typing this in a Markdown powered app.

Why does a face with X for eyes, conventionally indicating death, represent 'astonished'? Is he astonished that he's dead?
