  • Lorne, as a fellow Torontonian I ask you to tell me which company you work for so I never work for that company.
Based on the elevated levels of rage in your recent posts, I'll bet you'll start looking for contract work within, hmm, 3 months...

How the hell can you not know about Magic? It's a very pervasive thing.

  • @Speakerphone Dude said:

I suspect that this is some kind of reference to a nerd/teenage card game (Pokemon maybe?), but when i was in high school I was not in the A/V or chess clubs so I was never properly introduced to this fascinating world. But I want to thank you because I was not aware that some people keep playing or talking a lot about Pokemon when they grow up. Now I'll look differently at the GeekSquad dudes.

Speakerphone Dude is still an unfunny moron. It seems as if he's attempting to be funny in his leaden, by-the-troll-handbook manner, but nonetheless failing miserably, and too fucking dumb to realize it. Like a slightly more articulate version of "Nagesh".

I assumed that must have been a reference to a game other than M:tG because everyone knows that a card can't keep tokens when it's shuffled into a library. (With a few narrow exceptions it loses tokens when it leaves play, or whatever they call leaving play nowadays. And the only card I can think of which retains its identity in the library is from Unhinged).

Wow with this extensive knowledge of card games I guess chicks must be all over you (at least the ones at ComicCon)

Wow man, sick burn! Why don't you add something about living in his mother's basement and being a huge nerd who probably spends too much time at the computer? That should teach him!

I wonder in what cosmos or alternate reality this comment is a zenith of rapier wit.

I think SPD is in fact a transdimensional being whose essence is bleeding into our own reality through hilariously bland pseudo-humor.

How was I supposed to know? I don't play the game.

I kind of assumed cards had more creative freedom in the interaction with the deck and graveyard. I'm kind of disappointed. I'm pretty sure my SPD token mechanic can add an interesting and balanced gameplay element.

Simple solution:  "When [X] comes into play, put a [X Token] into play with # tokens... Remove # tokens from [X Token]..."

Solved, and the card still works.  I think they might even have a concept of an "Emblem", which (haven't look at the rules in years) is like a token for a player. So you can give the player # Emblems.

  • I keep being reminded of that Magic hack where you could take a few cards with self-replicating properties and then deal like 39465239875629852435e+50 damage in a single turn.

I can't find the link here, sorry. :(

  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Nine <- has some of the most powerful cards in the game, it might be there.

My personal favorite was Time Walk, where its original wording was: "Target player loses next turn" which meant skip next turn, but could have been interpretted as lose the game next turn.  Luckily they caught and fixed it before it was released.

The instructions include tempering the egg yolk mixture. I don't know how YOU add small amounts of hot liquid into cold egg yolk and then stir it together-- but I would use a spoon.

I think most use a whisk. If you don't own any, get some. They are much better for mixing than random spoons and forks. Spend the extra money for stainless steel, and they will still be useful after you are not.

I don't think it would teach him anything he hasn't learned by now. This being said, I thought it was a cliche that IT people were playing those card games or staying in their mother's basement, but the more I read posts on this forum, the more I find out that there is some truth in that.

Oh, I know. I didn't even play Magic back then. I guess that means it was a hipster remark. A nerd hipster comment of no value. Just something to help cheer up SPD.

One day you may figure out that having opinions is different from being a troll, and suddenly the world will become so more complex and interesting, you will be amazed. Like someone getting a full-length p0rn movie after years of hunting down 20-second preview clips on internet.

Who then watches the first 5 minutes, goes "WTF is this shit", and hops to the 20 second spot they wanted to see.

Or to use a car analogy: It's like buying a Ford when all you wanted to do was troll someone on the Internet.
