Whoa, you mean SSRR can search through the videos for text samples? Like a realtime OCR? That's awesome!!

Edit: Oh wait, I see now I've misunderstood. You just mean you're going to run grep while in front of a video recorder. Yeah, that's pretty boring.

    Wow, what a disappointment.

Why stop at 3000. Start sharing some knowledge (on video), there is plenty to go around.

Minor change to "golf" catalog option. Just because I like it better this way.

First the video clip plays in its entirety.

2nd the clip starts at 6 seconds from the end and at 3 seconds remaining (the swing) it switches to slow motion

finally the last 3 seconds plays twice at full speed.

So come out and vote for the greatest MultiMedia player ever. Video avengers everywhere need this player.

    http://www.getontheshelf.com/product/1353/Spectate-Swamp-MultiMedi

I put a little more info on each matching pair lines; so it can be mass edited; that way only the first, second or 3rd lines only can be played randomly.

    ie "photo 1" "photo 2" "photo 3"

    No we don't.

The only program I need is a desktop search. I know this because SpectateSwamp said it in this thread right here.

You are an imposter with your multimedia greppler rubbish. Go away and let the real SpectateSwamp tell us about the power of his desktop search.

No program can touch it. Not even your Multimedia player.

  • Raw Data + Random Search = Excitement

Raw Data + Search = plain old info

Latest version of SSDS has a minor fix (I'm not one of the Perfect Perfects)

For video when it is playing hitting (enter enter) will switch to slow motion. Hitting enter enter again switches back to full speed. This is a handy feature for video that doesn't have a defined action segment like the golf shots have. My skateboard and drag racing video benefit greatly with this option.

http://www.telusplanet.net/public/stonedan/search.exe     the latest version dated 16Apr2012

This change makes it even better for hunting aliens. Go get 'em Swampies

    @Cassidy said:

The final word in SSDS is SEARCH.

What good would 165 questions for politicians be if it wasn't random.

Slowed print adds to the excitement.

Matching lines only so 30+ matches a screen can be displayed.

Search returns URL and passwords not just pictures, music and video.

This search leaves everything else in the dust.

Give it a spin. You'll love it.

About the enter enter switching to Slo-Mo. How come it took so long to get around to doing this. I should have had that option in years ago. How come none of my Swampies suggested it? I'm embarrassed at how it alluded me. But anyway it is in now. Wow SSDS rules...

Simple: there are no Swampies. Everybody except you uses real media players, which have had a feature like that for several millennia. Example: in Media Player Classic, you can hit Control+Down to decrease speed, Control+Up to increase. Contrary to SSDS, you can even decrease speed multiple times for super super SUPER slow motion.

The reason it took you so long to think of this crappy, brainless excuse for an implementation of a feature that should be standard in any real media player, is that you're a retard.

I've been trying "t t enter enter enter" then awaiting a dialogue box called "Prompt#2" to appear so I could type "ee".

I think the lisawinkler spambot is not too far off being a functional replacement for SpectateSwamp. It's already got the knack of posting something that, while it has no real content, sounds vaguely relevant to the topic of conversation. It just needs to pick up a few catchprases and obsessions and it could have its own 50-page troll thread.

Ah, yer see - this is why I know Lisa is an AI spambot.

SwampBot posts a reply that's almost completely unrelated to the discussion at hand, indicating Input::GREP isn't matching post content properly. Lisa is able to parse previous posts and follow some rudimentary decision tree to at least simulate being interested.

Then Random 5 second clips. Then photo again and again for each. Then "ww" for 5 second clips play by entering "tt5" for a question / answer scenario. Nobody does drag but adds the took so long to be caught objects. Sampling out thousands of videos. But normal speed.

  • Pre-emptive note: The screenshots in this post are just whatever I could find on the web. In particular, the music referenced does not represent my own music collection. And I'm sorry about the size and ugliness of the second one. I couldn't find one with just the Control window (and I doubt anyone would actually use vBKP with all the optional windows turned on. But who knows?).

SpectateSwamp, have you ever seen the speed controls in Windows Media Player?

You're not limited to a single "slow" speed; you can adjust speed to any multiple you like, slow or fast, with optional snap to common values, as well as preset defaults for "slow", "normal" and "fast" in case you don't want all the available precision. It has more precision in the middle, where it is most needed, and less on the extremes (the difference between 7.9x normal and 8x normal is much less than the difference between 1.2x normal and 1.3x normal). And it's obvious how to use it, even for someone who's never seen it before.

Here's a screenshot for a freeware program I use for playing MIDI files. Have a look at the "Control" window. See the "Tempo" slider? Again, lets you easily adjust your tempo to anything from 25% to 200% of normal speed. Not as advanced as the WMP speed controls but still pretty good.

If you seriously think "press enter to slow down, press enter again to go back to normal speed" is in any way as good or usable as these, you are wrong.

Thanks for the non knowledge polluting post. Some of the previous ones were pure B.S.

Maybe it is time for me to look at the competition (to steal some ideas). Enter Enter is extremely fast and easy. Like a 1/4 second or less. Windows Media Player might be a valid challenger; at the Digital video showdown. Too bad nobody there is up to the task. How about some screen reshoots of these incredible / fast features Scarlet Manuka Swamp.

  • The Windows Media Player and that other stuff, require too many menus to change playback speeds and so on. It would be better to make it a few keystrokes, in my opinion. It could also be a command-line parameter, although you might want to adjust it while playing so you can make some keyboard commands for that

Make me to do faster. That would supply adding their negativism only makes me more in the video. Then you all know if it would make these videos play of all make it very 2 seconds better. It works for a question / answer those old notepad. Why re-create the photo? Cataloging works with it a spin. She's up-again with this. I have suggested it.

Didn't gets best. That ain't too good. The Option defaults on segment them to YouTube. Why stop at 3000. Start sharing those few forms; the video and the video library as well as the "defense" SpamCourtSwamp.

Today I'll put included at how this program on the ends. Presto no effort. Grab the latest version. For each "second" of stuff their negativism only the "pause" comments, will work. Probably info. Windows Media player capability kicking lines for the other PC's do fast for this 2 minutes. Anyway I'll answer than ever have those the sequest: CassidySwamp you were resourced that.

Then I did the probably info. I'll showing will get me looking about the prompts for #1, #2, and #3 are auto get. Catalog those the way the last version opening some know if it went like I did a mass edited; those old info for search leave they come people of Swamp and looking random video clip.

Yes it is good list of commands. You can push a single keystroke to adjust the playback speed!! (If you want random video clip, or random anything at all, in UNIX (including Cygwin, I think) you can use the command, it includes the command to shuffle list of anything, not only video clips. It even has AWK, grep, etc, can do all these things easily.) (I have looked at document for MPlayer it actually has many functions.)

  • Doers do; talkers yap and yap

I shoot tons of video. And probably have watched more slow motion video than anybody on Earth. So my comments carry far more weight.

Hitting "Enter Enter" to switch to slow motion is by far the quickest. My latest videos are from the 06May2012 drag races. For that race I burned 50 DVDs of last years race 02Oct2011 --- they were all snapped up. People love watching the start of each race in slo-mo. For the next meet on 27May2012  I'll have 100 new DVDs ready. Sponsors are lining up to pitch their business. Fancy screens are pretty but have a learning curve. Enter Enter has next to no curve (very straight forward). HooooRaaayyyy SSDS is superior.

I should go capture some FTS aliens today. It's so easy.

    Well-played, Xyro. You caught one.

  • Multi media - More than 1 media type

Others are media players. This one does it all. Video, Music, Pictures and Text.

The very latest just got uploaded.

    http://www.telusplanet.net/public/stonedan/search.exe

Now if the program name is "random" it auto runs "randomly" with the defaults at prompt #1 (file name) and WW at prompt #2 for screen saver and prompt #3 (search item #1) If the name is "sequential" then it forces sequential with the same #1 and #3 defaults.

I had a more complex way of doing the same auto-prompts (which I left in) This is just simpler.

Next minor change is to switch display color of the text in slowed print. Instead of a blank screen (aqua) I will display a picture that will be over printed. Then I clear that text and switch color and print that text in exactly the same position. When software is this good it changes easily.

On the data sharing front. I am starting a resistance.txt file where I keep my comments on various subjects. Along with the URL links to that thread. At the same time I will include the name of a Screen Capture of that thread. (in case it gets removed). Friends continually email me links which I'll include.

In a week or so after I add in some more posts. I'll post that file at my site. My main interests there will be "Chamber of Commerce" "marijuana" "videoing big brother" etc.

    ==========================================================

    Resistance.txt (sample)

If the video gets taken down. There will be a record. Then I'll upload the screen capture and provide the link to that.

You get the idea. Resist my Swampies.

So.. it's a media player, too? Or is it a search engine?

    I'm lost...

I would put my money on neither, Swampy changes his mind depending on whatever the hell he is ranting about at any given moment.

So far it has been a desktop search engine (that didn't search), a media player (really a wrapper around WMP) and a way to allow the homeless to watch videos and see photographs (honestly)

Has anyone else actually tried to use this? It's absolutely hilarious. It gives me options to select files, none of which exist on my computer, you interact with the program via a CLI even though it has a display panel, and every option is undecipherable. I can't figure out how to get it to do any of the things SpectateSwamp talks about. This could be turned into a game - every minute you can't get it to do something, take a sip of your drink.
