To be honest, I'm not sure AI had much, if anything, to do with it. It was their own bungling that dun it and then the best economy ever nailed it shut. But hey...

Meta's Reality Labs division, the part of the business focused on VR and the metaverse, has been losing money since its inception at a frightening, surely unsustainable rate. In the last financial quarter alone it managed to haemorrhage $4.279 billion (opens in new tab).
But how?
How can putting a few zuckvatars-without-legs into Unity engine cost $4bn a quarter?I'll do it for

I thought so, but I saw a commercial about it on national TV the other day. So it looks like they're still spending (some) money trying to convince people this is a thing.
