@PleegWat I don't do much on paper, but I have played a few desktop and mobile nonogram programs, and most mark clues off automagically. Nonograms Katana is my current go to.

So, I've been thinking about this.
If I mark off clues for you, it leaks information about the solution. If I try to match squares to the clues without using the solution, there is ambiguity over which grouping a square belongs to.
I could add commands for you to annotate clues, but I need a
of what that would look like.
