In south east asia, I've seen so many dog tracks on concrete roads. So, road workers there don't need to worry about their next tasty food.

What on earth have you done to get attacked by a Hedgehog
Built machines that turn animals to robots and/or tried to steal emeralds, presumably.

Blast off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

You don't. Honey badger doesn't give a shit.

@error the original from 5 years ago was funnier. You know, the one where the question was "how do you make this electricity?"
-
@Gąska I'm sorry I failed to consult the codex memepedia compendium for the original.
-
@error I'm just complaining that memes become worse with each year. Like, people make deliberate edits to original images to make the jokes less funny. It's frighteningly common nowadays.

Electricity is much more basic, too. So when reading it I'm like "yeah, how do you actually make that?" I guess something something magnets and turbines and stuff, but then you're at fucking magnets, how do
they workyou mine them?

Dara O'Briain has a good variation on this in one of his stand-ups.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVxOb8-d7Ic
If you don't want to watch, however, the joke's basically like this:
A computer! Wonderful machine.
But how does it work?
I don't really know to be honest. It's connected to the wall. And there's a thing in the wall that somehow makes the pictures change. It follows up with:
Toilet. Great! How does toilet work?
You relieve yourself, press a button, and it's all taken away.
And where does it go?
It goes into the wall...The punchline
Does it feed the thing that makes the pictures change?

@Mason_Wheeler the other day I copied my "projects" folder, where I store all my programming projects, to another computer. Some 30 odd projects in total, only 2 of which were JS. Over 90% of copying time was spent on node_modules.
-
@Mason_Wheeler Package management with node is a bit of a mess. That folder contains your project's dependencies. And each of those dependencies has a node_modules with their dependencies. And so on, and so on, and so on.
It uses semver to determine if a compatible subdependency already exists higher in the hierarchy, but that depends on those projects declaring similar version strings. As such, it's not uncommon to see a high degree of duplication, with multiple versions of the same library existing in the tree.
There are ways to deduplicate, but most devs are .

It's exacerbated by the habits of making one package per function and making masses of small releases. All that overhead for so little…
-
@dkf Which is in turn exacerbated by the lack of anything worthy of being called a standard library.
